Comedian Kathy Griffin wasn’t so popular with the troops during her USO Diva’s Salute stand-up act on Sunday, when she poked fun at Bristol Palin’s weight.
“[Bristol Palin] is the only contestant in the history of ["Dancing with the Stars"] to actually gain weight.”
Following a chorus of boos, Griffin went on to say, “No, come on, come on. She gained, like, 30 pounds a week. I swear to God, it was fantastic. She’s like the white ‘Precious,’” referring to the obese African-American character in the eponymous 2009 film.
When the booing continued, Griffin shouted, “You can boo louder than that! Come on, boo me! I love it! I love it! War is Hell, war is Hell!”
This isn’t the first shot Griffin has taken at the Palin family. In 2009, Griffin made jokes about Sarah Palin’s infant Trig, who was born with Down Syndrome. Kathy Griffin justified calling Trig Palin a “retard baby” via Twitter:

If I remember correctly, Griffin has been banned from some tv shows in the past.
Shameless, arrogant, mentally diseased creatures like Kathy Griffin are impossible to embarrass.
Seems a little “peacenik” to me—kinda like, “If we all just came home there’d be no more wars” mentality. Bit naive, if you ask me. Watch one of the television spots.

Then she sounds like a Joyless Beyher wannabe. Nasty, mean, ugly and hell bent to take cheap and nasty shots at all family members Palin.

Glad to hear that your son appreciates the USO. Means that my money is doing some good.
FWIW, my grandfather saw Bob Hope's USO show in a bombed out airplane hangar in Regensburg, Germany. Sixty years later, he was still talking about it. I've heard plenty of other stories from friends and relatives mirroring Grandpa's experience from WWII through the present day. The USO - this story notwithstanding - is a fine organization.
Megan McCane couldn't last a week at that pace and will never tone up.

Write the USO and ask them if this is how they spend your contribution and tell them you might just have to rethink your giving.
Kathy Griffin is hideous. I doubt Sméagol would even ‘hit it’.

She would be embarrassed to go on the show. She'd be out of breath after 30 min of rehearsal. Plus, most viewers probably don't even know who she is. No ratings there...
