WASHINGTON -- The FBI may have closed its Amerithax case against Fort Detrick scientist Bruce Ivins nine months ago, but some experts are not willing to let the issue die quite so easily.
A group of about 25 scientists, professors, writers, terrorism experts and more convened Monday afternoon to discuss the particulars of the investigation and to debate who the real perpetrator may have been.

"each speaker came from a different perspective and had different opinions on the real killer"
As expected, each speaker had his own theory, and the only reason they agree with each other is because if the FBI is right about Ivins, then every conspiracy theorist and True Believer must be wrong.
After the first part of the seminar, a co-worker of Bruce Ivins' stood up and answered questions. John Ezzell became the center of attention - and apparently some very hostile questioning. (There are reports that Ezzell suffered a heart attack after the meeting, an attack severe enough to require immediate surgery.)
The final paragraph of the article is as follows:
"Despite some strong opinions from the panelists and audience members, the seminar itself never drew any conclusions as to Ivins' guilt or who the real attacker could have been. When Van de Velde asked Ezzell if he thought Ivins could have done it, Ezzell responded with a hesitant "possibly yes." "
The suggestion by a co-worker of Ivins' that Ivins could have done it probably didn't go over very well in a crowd of people with other theories about the case.
I'm hoping that a recording of the meeting will be made available - particularly Dr. Ezzell's Q&A and the last scheduled part of the seminar, the part where some UCLA experts were supposed to review "the lessons learned" and the "broader implications" of what was said.
i believe that the Anthrax letters were in fact part of the Terrorist plot of 9-11. The first anthrax victim was a News Paper owner in Florida. Whose wife rented an apt to Atta and the other terrorist. Later they had a woman in New York mail the anthrax in New Jersey! She later died from the anthrax!
Ping
The FBI never revovered from the Reno Justice Department..
but I doubt it.
but I doubt it.
I know such an admission is against all known laws of the internet, but I have absolutely no opinion, theory, or idea who the anthrax mailer was.
Robert Stevens, the 63-year-old Globe tabloid photo editor was murdered. In addition, Tom Daschle was sent a non-lethal dose.
At the time, Senator Daschle was considered a leading contender for the 2004 Democrat Presidential nomination, along with Senator Hillary Clinton. And the Globe was and is hostile to the Clintons, both Bill and Hillary. Connection? Oh, and Barbara Olson, author of Hell To Pay, an unflattering biography of Hillary Clinton, died on American Airlines flight 77, the one that hit the Pentagon.
I’ve always heard that the Globe, which is owned by the same company as National Enquirer, is counted among “the friends of Bill”.

The Clintonite who owns National Enquirer
The political world has been holding its nose for the last twenty-four hours while peering at the weekly tabloid National Enquirer, which published a story yesterday alleging that presidential candidate John Edwards had an extra-marital affair.
“The story is false,” Edwards told reporters in South Carolina today, according to a reporter who was there.
What the tabloid’s readers, in politics and out, may not know is that a key owner of the Enquirer is a prominent New York investment banker and one of Hillary Clinton’s key backers, Roger Altman. Altman was an official in the first Clinton administration, and his name is often mentioned as a possible Clinton Treasury Secretary.
The investment boutique which Altman founded and chairs, Evercore Partners, bought a controlling stake in American Media, which publishes the Enquirer, in 1999, which it still holds with a partner. Evercore’s president, Austin Beutner, sits on American Media’s Board of Directors, according to Evercore’s website.
A spokesman for American Media, Richard Valvo, said in an email that Altman has “no involvement in editorial, ever.” He said that Evercore owns 20 percent of the company through an investment fund. Altman didn’t respond to an email seeking comment or to a message left with his secretary.
American Media has also published lurid and negative stories about the Clintons since its acquisition...
People, Ivins did it, the govt says so. Bunch of ‘thraxers is what you are. )
Bruce Ivins didn’t send the anthrax, but he did write all of Shakespaere’s plays and a few of the sonnets.
And he launched a missile off the coast of San Diego a couple of weeks ago.
I don’t think the FBI really believes Ivins was the mailer. They just needed a proper scape-goat with whom they could close their files.
They hounded the poor man to his death.
“The FBI never recovered from the Reno Justice Department..”
Neither did the ATF.
Shame on you!
:-)
Yea right! So has the FBI caught their man? No. Maybe he died in the plane crashes and the Newspaper owner in Florida was the first casualty! His wife did rent the apt to Atta and these dudes went to a pharmacist to get some medicine for their burned hands!
Reason No. 1 is the date of the first mailings: A Tuesday...EXACTLY one week after 9-11. Exactly 3 weeks later, Oct. 9th, again on a Tuesday, the second mailings took place.
Anyone who thinks these mailing were the result of, and not part of, the 9-11 attack is just ignoring "prep time".
But the first Anthrax revelation occurred on or about Oct 4th when the death of Stevens was announced so neither of those mailings had yet produced victims.
Now, I'm going to connect a couple of different dots than the FBI did.
His name is Malvo...one of the DC snipers who because of their pattern, I eventually nicknamed them "THE RUNNERS". These dudes eventually ran up and down the east coast when they were "hunting" but, there was a time in 2001 (Aug 13 for 39 days) when Malvo was attending school in Cypress Lake High School in Florida....at the same time that Stevens would have contracted Anthrax.
And it was on the day that Stevens death was announced as Anthrax, that Malvo left school and never returned.
"The Runners"...How perfect...Malvo takes a bus to Jersey and drops the letters in the box. Returns to school. Takes a bus to American Media and returns to school. Leaves school and takes a bus to Jersey again, then heads for Bellingham.
We KNOW that Atta was in Florida a few times...he's was running up and down the coast, too.
The FBI discounted more than one person and that makes absolutely, "0", no sense.
Being a mathematician, I'm always looking for patterns. The No. 2 is so basic to all this.
2 Planes to NY. 2 Planes to DC. 2 Letters to the Media. 2 Letters to Politicians.
So why did Malvo and Mohammed go on their killing spree?? They thought they were going to get paid for the anthrax scenario and it never happened.
So you believe this web site? Like fight the false rumors for Obama? I suppose you buy into their web site too!
September 19, 2001: Possible Hoax Anthrax Letter Received at Office of Florida Tabloid
Edit event
A bizarre love letter to Jennifer Lopez is received by The Sun, a tabloid newspaper with offices in Florida. The letter contains an empty can of chewing tobacco, a small detergent carton, a cigar tube with a cheap cigar, a cheap Star of David charm, and a folded handwritten letter to Jennifer Lopez with a pile of what looks like talcum powder in the middle of it. The writer describes his love for Lopez and asks her to marry him. The letter is handled both by Ernesto Blanco, who later contracts anthrax, and Bob Stevens, who later dies of anthrax. It is unknown what the return address was or what date it was postmarked, since its importance is only realized after it has been thrown away and people start getting sick. As a result, the FBI is never able to analyze it. [Newsweek, 10/8/2001; National Inquirer, 10/31/2001] However, others exposed to the letter, including Bobby Bender, the person who actually opens it, do not get sick later.
Steven Hatfill worked for SAIC, but he’s probably not guilty anyway...anyone can make a mistake.
