Anyone who has visited a fast food joint, a doctors office or a hospital has watched as workers change gloves between servings or exams. And if they dont, the customer/patient would surely say something.
How often do the TSA agents doing the enhanced pat-downs change gloves? And would most cowed flyers who just want to make it through security and advance to their gate ask them to do so? Or would passengers fear that such a request would invite more enhanced scrutiny?

The only way to change these stupid rules is to NOT fly, hurt the airlines. When THEIR pocketbooks hurt, the rules WILL change then and only then.
I wish Monk were still on the air. I can envision a pretty funny scene if he was.
They’re not wearing the gloves to protect you, or any other passenger. They’re wearing the gloves to protect themselves.
On a marginally related note, a few months ago, I was waiting in a local pizza place (a regional chain) for my pizza to get baked, and I saw one of the employees who was handling pizzas use one of his sanitary-gloved forefingers and wipe his nose, then grab a pizza to take it to a customer at a table.
I called the main office the following workday and told them about it. The lady said she’d see to it the employee was better educated, and she sent me a coupon for a free pizza.
Would you want to go back to the place for that free pizza, knowing any one of the employees could be doing the same thing or worse? Not I, quacked the duck.
Does it matter more about the gloves or the fact that you'll be felt up?
That's fine, though.. I see you are encased in a little box.
Say you did fly, how would you protest?
Who says I would? The chumps at the airport don't make policy.
I'd opt for the porno-scan and let that image be punishment enough for them.
Although.. thinking about it.. a spontaneous urine eruption might be funny.
Where I work, the blue gloves are made of nitrile. Latex gloss tend to be off-white in color.
I wouldn’t want one of these creeps touching my without changing gloves first. Lots of infections can be transmitted this way. Gross.
there are latex-free gloves available for those allergic to them
“two by two, hands of blue”
do they test these machines for the amount of radiation leaking out? do they calibrate it to ensure our safety?
Obfuscation piece. Gloves aren’t the issue. The searches are the issue.
True, but my concerns remain the same.
Re the pizza story, reminds me of a KFC outlet. Cashier goes in back to make those small sandwihes with bare hands!
Those gloves are to protect them from us, the uncleaned masses.
There are Nytrile gloves available for those with latex allergies. No need to give up a career. Strange no one told him that.
Maybe worse than that....
How is syphilis spread? Syphilis is spread directly from person to person by direct contact with an infectious lesion. ..
How do people get gonorrhea? Gonorrhea is spread through contact with the penis, vagina, mouth, or anus .
How is hepatitis A spread? Touching contaminated surfaces and then placing your hands near or in the mouth
Ping for your expertise in this area.
This was ten years ago. I do not know if the Nytrile gloves were available.
I wonder how thost TSA folks are going to feel about this if they all start coming down with cancer.
