A retired special education teacher on his way to a wedding in Orlando, Fla., said he was left humiliated, crying and covered with his own urine after an enhanced pat-down by TSA officers recently at Detroit Metropolitan Airport.
“I was absolutely humiliated, I couldn’t even speak,” said Thomas D. “Tom” Sawyer, 61, of Lansing, Mich. Sawyer is a bladder cancer survivor who now wears a urostomy bag, which collects his urine from a stoma, or opening in his stomach. “I have to wear special clothes and in order to mount the bag I have to seal a wafer to my stomach and then attach the bag. If the seal is broken, urine can leak all over my body and clothes.”
On Nov. 7, Sawyer said he went through the security scanner at Detroit Metropolitan Airport. “Evidently the scanner picked up on my urostomy bag, because I was chosen for a pat-down procedure.”

The “timing” for all of these outrageous searches and invasion of privacy is no coincidence. It’s retaliation for the DemocRat loss of the House.
The same mentality and compassion will dictate policy with the “Obamacare Death Panels”. You are just another “number” to Big Brother.
Anatomical terminology correction: should be "abdominal wall," not "stomach." The stomach is part of the digestive system, not the urinary tract.
I suppose we have the Bush Administration to blame for starting the TSA and the Obamatons for morphing it into the abusive agency it has become.
Perhaps a slew of litigation against the agency can make it more sensitive airline passengers' personal dignity and civil liberties. But that goal can't be achieved until the TSA upgrades its requirements for its personnel. Seems like the agency is another example of the societal decadence perpetuated by affirmative action policies in hiring.

I sincerely think that this whole thing with the TSA is also related to obamacare. It is not so much about security, political correctness, or bureaucracy gone amok. It is about asking permission. McDonalds and about 100 other firms had to ask for waivers from obamacare. Jan the Man is considering CAIR’s request to waive muslim women wearing burkas from TSA procedures.
Pelosi, obama, reid and soros are attempting to habituate us to asking permission from the government. Permission for waivers is only the beginning. This assault on our bodies has nothing to do with security. It is far more grave than that.
They say the pictures are detailed but not photogenic.
Could there be another motive for their use of these scanners?
IS or CAN the equipment be enhanced to collect fingerprints, thereby establishing a NATIONAL FINGERPRINT BASE where we can all be tracked by reader-monitors placed everywhere, just as we are now unable to go anywhere without camera watching us?
This is what they do when they collect DNA from prisoners.
If they could put a man on the moon 41 years ago, why do we doubt that they could do this?
They scan our eyes for identity purposes. But cameras might have difficulty matching their database to people wearing sunglasses or deceptive contact lenses.

I had to have a diverting colostomy back in March, and I'm still coming to terms with it. Hopefully I'll be able to have it reversed in January, and "have my plumbing hooked back up," so to speak. But your friend is absolutely correct. People do live full lives after ostomies of all types, but it changes your life completely. You have to keep supplies with you at all times, just in case. Your activities will often be limited. And as you said, you're always aware of the change in your life.
Basically I feel as if I'm living in a bad dream that I can't wake up from. And I know that eventually I'm going to have to fly, either for work, or to visit family, and if I'm still wearing this colostomy bag, it's going to be a complete nightmare.

At the same time it also doesn’t occur to them that someone with only cash, no luggage an holding a one way ticket is a likely threat.
