Forty-five of the nation’s wealthiest taxpayers, dubbing themselves “Patriotic Millionaires for Fiscal Strength,” are asking President Barack Obama to let tax breaks expire for those making more than $1 million.
“We have done very well over the last several years,” reads their letter, posted on their website. “Now, during our nation’s moment of need, we are eager to do our fair share. We don’t need more tax cuts, and we understand that cutting our taxes will increase the deficit and the debt burden carried by other taxpayers. The country needs to meet its financial obligations in a just and responsible way.
“Letting tax cuts for incomes over $1,000,000 expire, is an important step in that direction.”

I have often thought they should raise the taxes of everyone registered as a democrat as of yesterday that earns more than $250,000 a year.
That would shut everyones pie hole.
Neither does the head of the Treasury, apparently...Timothy Franz “TurboTax” Geithner.

I think it’s more like 45 people on a website who like to PRETEND they are millionaires.
Haven’t seen the website, so I could be wrong.
Anyone who believes that millionaires got that way by telling the government to take as much as they can, doesn’t understand how they got to be millionaires.
This seems like some planned PR stunt to get conservatives to agree with trying to screw the rich.
The less money they have, the less chance of the unemployed getting a job. Businesses are closing left and right. The last place I worked finally went bottom up.
Maybe there are 45 millionaires who are this ‘altruistic’, but I seriously doubt it.
I’ll bet anyone $50 that these trustafarians get all their income from tax free munis purchased by the hard work of their parents or grandparents

I just hate love how leftist groups use words like "patriotic" or "American" in the names of their organizations: Patriotic Millionaires, American Civil Liberties Union, Americans United for Separation of Church and State, People for the American Way, Media Matters For America, America Coming Together... etc. etc. etc.
Those bastards can afford accountants, attorneys
and other financial advisors to shield themselves

Any rich guy with competent accountants move their money offshore as soon as possible.. ANYWAY..

BTW, I’m tired of hearing how the GOP is supposedly the party of big business. The truth is, most big businesses prefer the big and ever expanding government and regulations Democrats push for, because that keeps small businesses (their competition) from becoming big.

Are they going to continue to create jobs (assuming that they do in the first place) or will they take what’s left of their money after taxes and shelter it somewhere? In any case the taxes they pay won’t be invested in “growing” the economy.
All of them are total lefties from Google exec’s to “green company” founders, read government suck-offs. Many of them, most notably Gail Furman, have direct ties to Soros.
Bet you 44 of 45 of those millionaires are living on trust funds. Growing a grey haired pony tail and taking meds to fight off their depression.

These people are free to pay more if they want. All they have to do is whip out their checkbooks and write an overly large check to the US Treasury.
Thet will gladly accept it.
It’s not them, it’s the economy that needs the money.
Just because 45 rich people are a hole liberals doesn’t mean it’s good for the economy.
That should work well to prohibit future millionaires.
