Get your dog chipped, licensed, and put tags on him/her!

This story makes me sadder than I can admit. I am going to hug my dog right now.

“Administrative leave”.....doesn’t anybody get fired anymore? I’ll bet there’s somebody among the millions of unemployed who could do this job without screwing up so comprehensively.

Municipal unions strike again, assuring only slaps on the hand for the most egregious screw ups. Especially if it was “only a pet.”

This is what Obamacare has in store for us.

So sad for the dog and his owner.

This just happened to me at the Mesa Shelter. My daughter is a volunteer there and she and another volunteer found a little of kittens. Someone took three and we were going to foster the other one. My daughter brought the kitten in our carrier/kennel into the pound for the vet to check it out and to find out if there was a foster family waiting or we would do it.

In the two minutes my daughter was gone, an employee knowing why my daughter brought the kitten in and who my daughter was, took that kitten, lied about it, and the staff killed it. Then my daughter and her friend were lied to by the workers there. I spoke to a few in management and NOTHING is going to happen to this worker her LIED. not a thing, and I asked for an apology and for my property (kenel) back and NOTHING.

I can’t find a job and the county employs MORONS. Go figure.

I don’t believe in micro-chips, but a tag is the best way to prevent this from happening, along with insuring that your pets can’t runaway.

Aren’t you glad the “just a dog” was dealing with that suicide bomber instead of you?

Your remark is inappropriate and not appreciated or needed.

When you get a brain and some manners; come back.

Why don’t you believe in microchips? My neighbor had her cat returned to her twice through the microchip. The third time, she just allowed the family who stole him to keep him. (He was a very friendly cat who used to wander the bike path near my friend’s house looking for attention.)

Tags are not good on cats — they get them tangled in things, or they slip their collars. And I once found a Schnauzer who had ripped his tags right off — broken bale on his collar. We never found his owner and we gave him a good home until he died.

Too many incompetent and sometimes down right evil people get hired at shelters.. The shelter I volunteered at now does a background check. They had hired a guy who looked like a freakin’ terrorist.. When he did a horrible job they fired him.. he then went into one of the rooms were cats were recovering from surgery and murdered two of them. Staff had walked in and caught him in the act.

I guess you were right. Check out comment # 11.

They never cease to amaze me.

Its a tragedy a hero dog who saved the lives of American soldiers was put to death by a careless employee in an animal shelter.

Its also a shame that ANY one’s dog would be so treated.

Palmetto Mason was criticizing the “just a dog” crowd. You should apologize to him and “get a brain and some manners” yourself.

"I don’t believe in micro-chips, but a tag is the best way to prevent this from happening, along with insuring that your pets can’t runaway."

I'm not a huge fan of chips either; however, there are some animals, particularly those rescued later in life that seem to display a wanderlust that can only be broken over a long time, if ever at all.

i don't think your brain was working when you read PalmettoMason's comment... or perhaps you simply lack manners?
