DeMint says a new RNC chairman is needed

Shortcomings in Republican efforts during the elections are a reason Michael Steele should not continue as chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC), a senator said in an interview Sunday.

"Our ground game, was not as strong as it could've been. We were outmanned on the ground," Sen. Jim DeMint said on Fox New Sunday.

Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) said Steele should be ousted because Republicans could have done a better job reaching voters.

She pretty much performs that function now. Although I’d love for her to be president, she would be an enormous help in fundraising and in keeping the party on message, no matter what the McCains and Grahams and Snowe-Collins of the party say. She can spend her weekends in the Shenandoah and at Great Falls Park to satisfy her outdoor adventures.

The essence of leadership is the willingness to state the hard truth in unmistakable terms.

The Republican Party leadership has betrayed its base repeatedly since before Ronald Reagan left office. It is long past time for this cadre to be flushed completely.

I said Rudy for these reasons:

1. RINO or not, he is very intelligent and can speak well.
2. He’s not afraid to mix it up.
3. With the 10th anniversary of 9/11 coming up, who better to have out there, showing the American people (and the world) the one American party takes national security seriously.

Otherwise either SP or Jim DeMint.

Michael Steele: Vote For Me, You Racists!

[Guest post by Aaron Worthing; send your tips here.]

So Steele is on a radio show with Al Sharpton and they have this exchange:

Sharpton said he couldn’t believe Republicans would even think of ditching Steele as RNC chair.

“You’d be the first brother run out after doing a good job. It would be interesting to see them have a historic win, and the brother takes the fall. Usually the brother takes the fall when they lose,” Sharpton said.

“You’re right. Well, you know, that’s going to be remain to be seen,” Steele said.

He is also very popular throughout the country; even with Dems and Independents.

Give a frick’n break. You put Sarah in the same light as Rudy? How about throwing in Lindsey and Waun McAss into the sentence. You must be bi-polar.

I agree, that may be the best spot for Palin. I have always felt the problem was the national party machine which is heavily entrenched in big government, DC centered ideas. Someone needs to clean house of the RINOs at the national level. Palin, I’m sure, knows exactly who the quislings are. Then maybe we will get support for those candidates who stand for making this country back in the model a truly Free Republic - not a centralized, top down, police state, ant farm.

The national machine is why I think we often get horrible candidates put forward. And we can’t have some “socialist-lite” candidate in 2012.

I don’t look at anyone in any light. It’s called strategy, which some people lack the ability to come up with.

No bi-polar here, maybe you though.

Yeah...a lot of people would go for that.
I like Sarah, but I dont think she has the chops yet for President. After she gets some time under her belt, I would crawl over broken beer bottles to vote for her.

Exactly right. Apparently, having a strategy when one’s in a war isn’t necessary.

That comment by Steele from a race pimp like Sharpton is a clear message from any objective Republican that Steele is either very ignorant or is just looking for excuses. Pick your poison. Either way you look at it.. he needs to go. Steele should know better than to play into the hands of a fraud like Al Sharpton.

The more I think about it the more I realize we don’t need a star. That’s why I’m leaning in the direction of Saul Anuzis. He himself is a bit of a RINO but it doesn’t seem to have affected his support of some very conservative candidates. Better yet he’s brought “moderate” money into very conservative campaigns.

His philosophy seems to be that the people should choose their candidates and the chairman should keep a low profile and let the candidate drive his campaign.

Is there a Patton-style patriot out there to head the RNC? If so, they’re needed to save their country NOW.
