In the second attack on Israel by Liberal Democrat politicians in the same week that the party’s leader said the party got it wrong on Israel, Jenny Tonge claimed on Friday that Israel’s treatment of Palestinians is the root cause of terrorism worldwide.
Possibly “Holocaust guilt” allows this treatment to go unchecked, Tonge said, adding that it might also be the “power of the pro-Israel lobby” in the UK and US.
The Liberal Democrat peer was speaking in the House of Lords at the Strategic Defense and Security Review, which sets out how the British government will deliver the priorities identified in its national security strategy.
On the issue of world conflict prevention, Tonge then said: “It is a disgrace to us all that problems such as Kashmir and Palestine are still alienating Muslims all over the world.
“The treatment of Palestinians by Israel is held up as an example of how the West treats Muslims,” she said, “and is at the root cause of terrorism worldwide.”
- In 2004, Tonge was sacked as a spokeswoman on children’s issues after suggesting she could consider becoming a suicide bomber.

Yes, and the Koran is only 14% of the Islamic Trilogy defining all of Islamic Doctrine and Sharia Law. The Hadith is 60% and the Siras 26%....therein lies much of what the rest of the world experiences from Islamic doctrine, Shiite or Sunni. Why our govt and the media focus on the Koran alone is beyond me. It is less than inspiring of confidence.
While the Koran provides quite enough for rejection by everything else on the planet that is intended to suffer under the existential threat of Islam, much of modern so-called terrorism is a technological extension of old-fashioned 1400 year old Jihad...nothing extreme about it at all. Imams have ok’s Al-Qaeda’s use of nuclear or biological weapons or any Western technology against the US or Israel.
Nothing against our best friends, the Brits, even though they do indeed have a multi-century tradition of hating Jews. I am sorry for the predictable effect their also-proven tendency towards appeasement will have on their nation.

I am assuming you dont know of the Jewish terrorism in what was then British-controlled Palestine in the 1940’s.
There were two Jewish terrorist gangs who bombed and shot hundreds of British soldiers and civilians as well as Jewish and Arab civilians: the Irgun and the Stern Gang. They even murdered the UN Peace Envoy to the region in 1946, Count Bernadotte, a Swedish antinazi who had spent ww2 saving thousands of Jews across Europe and getting them into neutral Sweden.
Their intention was bomb and terrorise Britain into agreeing to the Jewish state that Britain had initiated in 1917 with the Balfour Declaration.
Their most notorious exploits were the bombing of the King David Hotel in 1946 in Jerusalem and the capture and torture-murder of two British soldiers, who after being murdered had their bodies strapped with explosives so as to kill other British soldiers who found the bodies.
The Irgun’s leader was none other than Menachem Begin, who of course went onto be Isreali leader and win a Nobel Peace Prize(!). Begin and the Irgun also committed the notorious massacre at Deir Yassin in 1948 of Arab men, women and children, for which no one was ever brought to book.
The Stern Gang, founded in 1939, were even worse. Their leader Abraham Stern, actually met Nazi representatives in 1941 in order to discuss continuing anti-British operations in Palestine in return for Hitler agreeing to stop the murder of European Jews and allowing them to be shipped via German ships to Palestine.
Britain under UN agreement withdrew from Palestine in late 1947. The Irgun and Stern disbanded in early 1948. Israel was of course founded later that year.
1—The English expelled the Jews in the 13th C. Cromwell allowed them to return freely in the mid 17th C.
The Scots, Welsh and Irish never expelled Jews.
And the history of English/British antisemitism has a-—been much better than mainland Europe and b—historically restricted to the upper classes or working class men with links to far right groups (like the BNP or EDL).

There’s something very “Revelation to Saint John” about all this Antisemitism.
My point is, Irgun and Stern stopped. The Arabs won't. Not until you and I and every non-Muslim either submits to Islam or is killed. They state this, today, as a fundamental of their religion and way of life. And they ratify it with actions that kill innocents, today. By far, more Muslims have been killed by other Muslims than any other external force. They will do this, their vision of the conquest of the world, the slow way, via relentless demographic and birthrate conquest, or quickly, via well documented terror attacks and wars. Or both. The Palis were given the opportunity to have their own state and refused it. Just what they would do with such a state is another question.
No nation on earth is entirely blameless for rotten things they may have carried out in their past. Some nations and faiths and systems of morals and sensibility get over it. Some, not all of them Muslim, do not. No matter how many hundreds of British were killed in Palestine between 1939 and 1947, it would be hard to argue that Germans did not kill more Brits in two wars, by a factor of 100,000. Why no pervasive, lasting animus against the Germans? The Turks at Gallipoli killed 50 times as many Brits as did the Jews of that era. Why no lasting animus against the Turks?
I argue only the following: Based upon their proven, repeated behavior, all the equivocation and fine-pointed argument for or against the encroachment of Islam is utterly irrelevant in light of their tendency to cut your throat and my throat. While you and I and a hundred million others argue over the fine points of history, a brutal, throwback religion seeks our death and or submission. They will cut our throats with a sharp knife, with a dull knife, whether we like them or hate them. That's not the choice. The choice is to submit to them. Brits could have taken that path twice in the 20th century and had a much easier time of it. But you'd be speaking German now.
