Joe Miller is contesting at least 10% of all write-in ballots. Misspellings tend to be in the first syllable of Lisa Murkowski's name- some wrote "Mercowski" or "Mircowski."

News on the mispellings from Anchorage Daily news:
Its live on channel 7040 Dishnetwork as well. Not much visually, looks just like a live camera, good music though.
Bahahahaha. Retarded “journalist” on CNN just got smacked down by an on the ground CNN “journalist”. She opened piece by saying something like this “Let me get this straight, Joe Miller is looking for the Federal Government to help him.....” She was trying to paint Miller as a hypocrite except the guy on the ground in Alaska smacked her down. “Not exactly........”
Again, so the actual laws as written do not count in yourmind. You are advocating vote fraud.
IF BO gets 4 more years this country is over.
Unless it’s 4 more years in jail. lol
Oops!
Bet she didn’t see that coming!
lol!
Yea saw my error immediately fixed that in a reply to myself since can’t edit.
Before I voted I checked out the judges who were on our ballot. I looked at past rulings and endorsements...then I made a list for myself, hubby, daughter and son-inlaw.Nothing wrong with taking private notes into the voting booth.
Just for in case anyone has Dishnetwork the counting process is on channel 7040.
Go MyKowKnees!
How would they count ManCowski?
California?
Have they changed that now? Somebody said they thought that had been remedied and write-in votes for Miller would be counted. But then somebody else said that Miller will have problems with that because he’s not on the list of write-in canddates.
I want to look at the statute again.
Dagnabbit;) How did I miss that?
LOL!!!
I have Dish Network but I do not get channel 7040.
Interesting that so many have misspelled her name. Her name was listed on a sheet of certified write in candidates. Yet, still the name is spelled wrong. Who are these voters?
Intent of the voter is the same BS that Al Gore tried to pull. Bahlonee....
The law is the law!
"...camapign..."
"...manufactired..."
"....stupidity should not be rewarded."
Indeed, it should not.
If some consider this unfair, then change the law.
Yeah, I frequently make typos. I’ve never made one on a ballot. You know the reason why? Because what I type in haste on a message board is not as important as an official ballot in an election. If FreeRepublic introduces a rule that posters must spell check before posting or they’ll be banned...then they can ban me and I won’t object. See how simple that is? Now when you can refute the point that the rule of law should be abided rather then trying to avoid that discussion let me know.
Miller isn’t a write-in candidate; he’s a party candidate whose name is printed on the ballot. So the rules talking about votes for a write-in candidate wouldn’t apply to him. Those rules would only apply to votes for people who are on a list of write-in candidates.
The rules that would apply to a party candidate are the ones that say the vote counts if the mark is made correctly inside the oval (5) and that a write-in vote is not invalidated just because it is for somebody whose name is printed on the ballot.
I suppose they could argue about it, but from the wording of the statute (which is in the post I’m replying to), it seems to me that if a person isn’t already listed on the ballot (because a party has declared that person as their candidate) then they have to declare their write-in candidacy. They are a “write-in candidate”. A person who was declared a candidate by a party can still be voted for as a write-in even if they are a party candidate and not a “write-in candidate”.
That’s how I understand it anyway. Does that make sense?
