Why don’t we cut welfare?..................................... bECAUSE THERE ARE PEOPLE IN REAL NEED OF IT. iNSTEAD OF CUTTING IT, DEMAND PERIODICAL DRUG TESTING FOR RECIPIENTS. Crap I typed without looking on the screen. Caps were on.

It will take generations I just didn’t want to scare people. I agree most don’t realize what a train wreck entitlements are. The sad thing is that each generation that fails to act makes the problem that much worse.

Yep...SS will still be broke. They need to phase it out, but if they plan to keep it they need to set it up like it was originally designed. You’d be long dead before you ever see any of that money. They need to set it to the life expectancy +3 years.

This administration has recently added a $80 fee to obtain 23 extra passport pages.

This used to be no charge. A new passport costs $110 with 20 some pages. Not sure if there is an extra fee if you order new passport with the extra pages.

The consulate representative in Cebu City told me the government is broke and is looking every where for money.

Social security(Above what is coming in) is supposed to be coming from money that has built up in the fund. That fund would have remained solvent for a number of years yet even if we did nothing. But all that money has been stolen. Now Any amount of social security payouts that exceed pay ins are coming from the taxpayer and the national debt. Now they want to reduce it because it is a direct and continuous expense. But it is one that the government created through thievery.

Where social security needs to be cut is where many are receiving it that were never supposed to be eligible or it in the first place. That include things like SSI. I have seen plenty of lazy people collecting that simply because they do not want to work.

Announcing this before the election would have widened the gap in the Nevada senate race so much it would have been impossible for Reid to steal the election.

One of the primary complaints liberals had against Angle was that she was going to “get rid of social security.”

I agree. We should make Welfare extremely tough to get and even harder to stay on it. Hell it’s harder and more humiliating to get on an airplane via TSA’s groping/pat down than it is to get welfare.

Random drug tests. Wait in lines to get the money. And only be allowed to buy basic food supplies. If you are caught with any luxuries (cigs, beer, wine, cable TV) you get kicked off welfare.

Those simple steps will ensure it’s availble to those that truly need it while at the same time reducing the welfare spending.

“This is the first time in my memory in Washington ... where it’s all there. We have harpooned every whale,” Simpson added.

Did you now? Then there are salary cuts, and perk cuts, for congress in there somewhere, Mr. Simpson?

How bout we reduce federal salaries to the median income level of working class Americans? Do this Mr. Simpson, and you might have a widget of credibility. Otherwise, all you want to do is screw the people who paid all their lives into Social Security. It’s there money, fork it over, and don’t eff with it, RINO.

You chaired the Senate Finance Committee’s Subcommittee on Social Security. What did you do with their money, Mr. Simpson?

He only spent about 4 months or so in the military, and was given a general discharge. Somehow or another, he filed for some type of disability, and was granted his claim. It's not much, probably less than $500 per month, but he's been collecting these checks for the past 40 years.

I know a guy who didn't make it out of basic and, somehow, he drew a disability for a stress fracture he got while "humping a '60." (The M60 machinegun. I think it's the heaviest thing he's ever had to carry for more than a minute—until he "collapsed" under the "weight"—in his entire life.) Real proud of it, too. It's attenuated, though. As his income rises, his disability is reduced. I think he's finally passed the point where he gets anything at all, but he collected something every month for a good long while.

I know another guy (mid 40's) who says he was in Iraq for three months when he was "stricken" by some malady that affects his ability to walk. Doesn't his affect his ability to draw a disability check, ride a new motorycle, drive a new truck, or fix his new house, but he's got a cane to lean on when takes a single step on his own two legs.

- remove all illegal aliens

- remove drunks and drug addicts from SSI

- stop welfare. period.

This man's goal is to dance on the grave of America. Everything else is a non-issue to him.

Before she passed away my mom was pulling in a whopping $813.00 a month in social security....what’s to cut??

Payments to healthy able-bodied potential workers age 65-70?

Payments to the “disabled” who got a note from a shrink?

I say we CUT ALL GOVERNMENT TRAVEL EXPENSES, unless it involves military personnel. And make it retroactive to the election, that means OBAMA AND THE ENTOURAGE pay for their own expenses to ASIA.
