US bans printer cartridges from passenger planes
BBC ^ | November 8, 2010 | BBC News

The US has banned toner and ink cartridges from passenger aircraft in the wake of last month's bomb plot.

In addition, cargo flights from Somalia and Yemen are banned, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said.

High risk cargo will receive extra screening and parcels must be screened and certified to have come via an established shipper, she said.

The strictures come after bombs hidden in cartridges were intercepted on route from Yemen to the US in cargo planes.

The printer cartridge ban affects cartridges over 16 ounces.

Heck, with that kind of a menu, I might be tempted to fly again. They would have to hire some babes to work the frisking station instead of Uncle Pervie and Aunt Pat.

The article must, really must, be satire. Not even the Department of Homeland Stupidity Security folks could be that incompetent. On the other hand . . . . Oh well, at least I got a good giggle from it.

They do, however, have a backlog with which to deal: underpants, shoes, etc. Fly naked! No baggage and no cargo. That should fix it.

Great Zeus, Thor and Athena! What are we becomming?

I was giggling so hard that I put an extra letter in becoming. Is uncontrollable giggling a pre-existing medical condition, to be covered by ObamaCare?

Unfortunately, it's no joke.

Toner and ink cartridges over 16 ounces will be prohibited on passenger aircraft in both carry-on bags and checked bags on domestic and international flights in-bound to the United States.

I bought a third-party toner cartridge for my Brother 2140 laser printer. It came from Germany. Good quality. I guess no more, unless it is shipped in?

My solution would be to have a bag of pork rinds out at the TSA Massage Parlor and Peep Shack and everyone would have to eat one to get on the plane

Pat the piggy, board the plane.

“Sadly, these morons actually think this will help.”

A few of them may think that, but basically the whole Homeland Security/TSA is about control of the populace. They can feel you up in public or view naked video, tell you what you can carry and if you dare complain, slap you in jail.

Then we begin rectally probing everyone on the plane.
