New House Judiciary Chairman to Obama: Prepare for Investigations
Veteran Congressman will head influential House Judiciary Committee
By Jim Forsyth
Thursday, November 4, 2010

The San Antonio Congressman who is in line to become chairman of the powerful House Judiciary Committee is promising 'a number of investigations and oversight committee actions' which he vows will 'hold the administration accountable,’ 1200 WOAI news reports.

Veteran Republican Lamar Smith, a Yale graduate and social conservative who grew up in the brush country of south Texas which is now transit point for illegal immigrants and drugs, said in a news conference that a number of issues will come into the sights of his committee when he takes the chairmanship in January, from cracking down on child pornography to taking the Obama Administration to task for failing to do enough to protect the southern border.

Smith says it is his Constitutional duty.

"Part of that checks and balances is in fact holding the administration accountable, is in fact insisting on more transparency, is insisting on more honesty, and getting the facts," Smith said. "Right now, because of the one party monopoly, the Administration has been able to dodge any kind of supervision, any kind of oversight committee action, and they refuse to testify, and that is no longer acceptable."

There was a LOT of speculation recently about what the White House Insider was referring to when he said a huge scandal was brewing, and "The White House is -expletive- itself over this stuff."

White House Insider: "President Obama is lost. Absolutely lost."

I am now sure the "Insider" is legitimate, and he was referring to Shorebank-gate!

I googled SHOREBANK along with each of the names the insider dropped on us: "Go back and review Blagojevich. Go back and review Rezko, Barton, Stern, Giordano, Carothers, Jarret."... and I can see they are all linked to SHOREBANK

I am sure there must be many, and better smoking gun links, but here is a smattering of smoldering links I found to these people while researching this...

... The New York Times confirms that Rep. Schakowsky played a leading role in the ShoreBank bailout. Yet ShoreBank is not based in Rep. Schakowsky’s congressional district, and she did not help the Bank of Lincolnwood–which is in her district, and failed in 2009–or Park National Bank, which was also active in community development in Chicago until it was closed by federal regulators last year.

Now, court documents that I have obtained reveal that ShoreBank was one of several banks that Rep. Schakowsky’s husband, Robert Creamer, used in the check kiting scheme for which he was convicted and sentenced to federal prison in 2006.

...incumbent Jan Schakowsky and her felon husband Robert Creamer may have played an integral part in scheming Obama’s government health care takeover.

Pollak points to a political strategy book Creamer wrote while in Terre Haute’s federal prison, and connects to Obama political director David Axelrod’s praise for Creamer’s ideas.  Pollak writes:

...

While in prison—or “forced sabbatical,” he called it—Creamer wrote a lengthy political manual, Listen to Your Mother: Stand Up Straight! How Progressives Can Win (Seven Locks Press, 2007).

The book was endorsed by leading Democrats and their allies, including SEIU boss Andy Stern—the most frequent visitor thus far to the Obama White House—and chief Obama strategist David Axelrod, who noted that Creamer’s tome “provides a blueprint for future victories.”

... I wonder where Hussein's trust keeps his millions? Shorebank?

If that bank failed, and Hussein had MILLIONS of his own cash in it, he would lose all but the FDIC guaranteed $100,000, right?

Telegraphing their intentions was dumb. Why not mail out catalogs for shredders while you’re at it?

Unless, of course, the game here is to provide for hearings as red meat for the conservative base while making sure that nothing *really* happens as a result.

Professional courtesy and all that.

The Ulsterman Report: White House Insider Review
Published by Ulsterman on November 5, 2010 in World Politics

As we wait for our next interview with our White House Insider, let us take a look back on the information already given to us by this now (in)famous political operative…

...

Lastly, reference by Insider to someone called “Pat” regarding a proposed meeting by Democratic Party power players following the Tuesday elections could have been a reference to party insider Patrick Caddell, a longtime significant figure within the Democratic Party dating back to the McGovern Campaign. Caddell has been a vocal opponent of the current Democratic Party leadership and specifically the Obama White House. It has been reported Caddell did in fact indicate a meeting of party insiders to have taken place November 3rd during a Fox News interview segment.

STAY TUNED FOR MORE WHITE HOUSE INSIDER REPORTS COMING SOON…

ABC NEWS, Nov 18, 2009----Stimulus grants: Why Was The White House Website Riddled With Errors?

Officials tell ABC News so far, they found 700 mistaken Congressional districts out of more than 130,000 stimulus grants. On Monday night, ABC reported on errors found on the website set up by the White House to track the number of jobs created or saved by the economic stimulus program. The website was riddled with reports of jobs in places that didn't even exist. That report prompted anger on Capitol Hill, and defensiveness at the White House. On Tuesday night's broadcast, ABC's Chief Congressional Correspondent Jon Karl took another look at the stimulus confusion.

LINK---Jon Karl: White House Vows to Correct Stimulus Reports Officials Tell ABC News So Far, They Found 700 Mistaken Congressional Districts Out of More Than 130,000 Stimulus Grants

ABC NEWS' JONATHAN KARL, Chief Congressional Correspondent, Nov. 17, 2009

When it comes to stimulus spending, could the wheels of government bureaucracy be grinding too quickly for once? Responding to more inaccuracies discovered in the reporting of spending and job creation from the administration's economic stimulus plan, the top White House official charged with overseeing the program vowed today to go through the reports with a fine-toothed comb and to correct the mistakes.

The promise came after ABC News found that Recovery.gov, the government Web site created to track the expenditures, had many job creation and stimulus spending figures that were attributed to congressional districts that do not exist, or that were incorrectly identified.

"The first time out, we knew there were going to be problems," said Edward DeSeve, special advisor to the president on the stimulus bill. "We don't think there are a lot of them. There are less than 1 percent in terms of the recent concern about congressional districts of the overall reports. And we've got a good commitment from the recovery board to work with us to fix them."

Officials tell ABC News, so far, they have found 700 mistakenly credited congressional districts out of more than 130,000 stimulus grants. The White House's Web site claims that more than 640,000 jobs have already been saved and created by the " $787 billion stimulus program. The reports used to come up with that number are riddled with errors.

In addition to the jobs in non-existent congressional districts reported Monday by ABC News, in real congressional districts, there are also problems, lots of them.

Moore's Shoes in Campbellsville, Ky., claims nine jobs were created from an $890 grant for nine pairs of work boots for the Army Corps of Engineers. Head Start of Augusta, Ga., claimed 317 jobs with a $790,000 grant, but it was really just a one-time raise to its 317 employees.

Chris Whitley is a fiscal officer for Central Savannah River Area Economic Opportunity Authority, which administers the Head Start program in Augusta. He says it was the administration's stimulus help line that advised them to claim 317 jobs. "It wasn't illegal, immoral or unethical. And they told me to do it, so I did it," said Whitley.

The mistakes have prompted anger on Capitol Hill. Rep. David Obey, D-Wis., the powerful chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, was outraged that one sewer project in his district was listed as creating 100 jobs. The real number is five. When asked what he thought when he saw the mistakes in his district, Obey said, "I wanted to strangle somebody."

Obey is demanding the administration fix the mistakes. "Fix the problem, the blessed problem, so that we're getting accurate information. I don't care what people's bureaucratic niceties are, or how hard it is to do it. I mean, they've got to fix the problem, so the American people can understand what the realities are.

$6.4 Billion Stimulus Goes to Phantom Districts
watchdog.org | November, 2009 | staff
FR Posted August 09, 2010 by bronxville

...Just how big is the stimulus package? Well for one, it has doubled the size of the House of Representatives, according to recovery.gov, which says that funds were distributed to 440 congressional districts that do not exist.

According to data retrieved from recovery.gov, nearly $6.4 billion was used to “create or save” just under 30,000 jobs in these phantom congressional districts–almost $225,000 per job. The web site operates on an $84 million budget and is tasked with monitoring the distribution of the $787 billion stimulus package passed by Congress–which, for the record, counts 435 members–in early 2009...

There is enough money unaccounted for to provide ten thousand jobs for committee staffers tracking it down. It will take more than two years and should begin now so that by early January the action can formally begin

This isn’t a kangaroo court. It is very likely that the administration has broken many laws;.

The Rs not only can investigate and legislate at the same time, they need to in order to get the public to understand why certain things need to be done.

Thanks for all the research and documentation you are compiling.

There’s little doubt that TARP and stimulus were either outrightly or surreptitiously funneled to institutions that supported Obama or who had pledged to support Democrat candidates in the election. Whether the transfers were legal but underhanded or illegal, I hope Issa and his cohorts in the House get cracking on investigations.

This is the people’s money and they deserve a full accounting of how it was spent.

Keep me posted.

Turning over the rocks and getting to the bottom of this is the fiduciary responsibility of the House. I think it would also accrue positively from a political standpoint because a majority of the population did not want TARP or the stimulus and finding out it was misused is going to reflect very badly on Obama, the DOJ and Democrat committee chairs who did nothing to oversee the programs.

But political gain is not the primary objective. Stewardship over the people’s money is.

The government is so corrupt, we have to hold hearings. However, I would be as quiet about it as possible if I were Republicans. The media will try to kill congressional oversight in the craddle. Republicans should act like this is an unpleasant part of their job but government corruption has to be kept in check.

Also, they need to appoint speical prosecutors to dive into a lot of this politican/bank/corporation corruption mess. It might take some Rinos out, too.

The public is very angry that no one has been prosecuted or even fired for the economic crimes that have occured.
