Expects Republicans to work with him... boiler plate, boiler plate... blah, blah, blah... eager for proposes from both sides ... wants to engage in serious conversations... Americans don't want the next two years to rival the past two... all must work harder... a month ago we have town hall in VA from small business owners... he asked is there hope for returning to civility (queue Twilight Zone music) ... I hope so... for our nation that has been made more perfect through painful progress... for the country... we all must remember we are Americans... now questions...
Q: will you concede the election was a rejection of your agenda? A: We’ve made great progress and the problem is people aren’t seeing it (move to strike as non-responsive)...
he’s taking questions?
WOW!
... we have to double-down on green energy and energy self-sufficiency... we have to ensure our kids are equipped in math and science... there are areas in which we will agree... the message of yesterday was that we have to work more toward a consensus on my philosophy...
... (still on the same answer... rambling, incoherent)...
About what I expected. Clinton was saavy enough to realize his realm had shifted rightwards after ‘94. Obama never even figured out the practical leftward boundary of his realm when the Dems had full control of the House and Senate, which is how the Dems lost the House. I just don’t see him having the instincts to move rightwards now.
Not a surprise. I figured Barry was too stupid and too arrogant to learn anything from this.
Obama on TV now - no backing down on his agenda
Good luck with that plan, one termer.
He refuses to acknowledge that "the people" did not want his healthcare plan.
HE SAID THAT??
Has he said that the American electorate “acted stupidly” yet?
He’s an ideologue, not a pragmatist like Clinton was.
He, can’’t learn, won’t learn as Clinton did in 1994, he’s done for... a one term’er
.....or, in some cases, not.
More denial and double talk. It’s NOT just the economy and his primary responsibility is not to cultivate the economy. I think there is something in there about protection....
He doesn’t know what the hell to do now.
He still thinks he’s running the show. That he is still magic, and nothing happened yesterday.
The Clintons learned this in 1994 as well. They switched tactics and let the healthcare plan get tabled until someone else could again put it in place.
Hillary could give him a run in 2012.
Been listening to this. Sheesh. You can tell by what he says that when he says he wants the Republicans to work with him, he MEANS that he wants them to follow his orders. Keep it up, Ears. The US people will come to loathe you even more.
Q: Aftyer last night, don’t you think the voters rejected your agenda? A: We are moving forward in an emergency period in which all the forces came together at once and the people felt their banks were failing and people thought that the banks were failing and they thought that it was an agenda rather than a response to an emergency and I am sympathetic to thiose who felt it was overreach and people were upset because we already had all this debt and at what point do we get back to what families havev to do and do the debt rather than the credit card and when I won in 2008 we were so busy to get things done that people were frustrated and I am a strong believer in how things get done in Congress and i had to sign a bunch of bills with earmarks I didn’t like and people felt that this is the same squabbling ike before and I didn’t move enough on these fronts (does ANYONE have any idea what he is saying?)...
