While the country made a sharp turn to the right, giving the GOP the House in a landslide, CA has moved MORE to the LEFT, if thats possible. Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown as the next Gov, with a Dem Assembly, AND Prop 25 passed, which only requires a simple majority to pass a budget. CA is doomed, and will soon fall into the Pacific. I predict CA bankruptcy before 2012. Truly a land of fruits and nuts.
Let the stupid leftists stew in their own juices.
NO BAILOUTS
Smart people who believe in American ideals should move to another state.
This morning in about two more hours, executives will begin planning to move or perhaps to take the plans to move from the drawer and implement them.
It is quite foolish and not in the best interest of stockholders to maintain a headquarters presence in the state. It is questionable, given Texas and Arizona, that there is even good reason for maintaining any presence in the state.
The election in California is the equivalent of severe kidney disease in a terminal cancer patient
I grew up in San Jose, but left 35 years ago when I enlisted in the Air Force, and I’d never go back except to visit relatives. My conservative niece and nephew are both in college there now, and I made sure they both voted. Now, considering the results, I’m going to start suggesting to them that they consider moving out of the state when they graduate. California is being ruined.
California voters, on the whole, apparently have grown fond of a life of dependency. You had your chance, folks.
What irritates the hell out of me is Kalifornia keeps electing the people who drove it into the dirt.
My outrage will happen when Moonbeam and crew expect the taxpayers of other states to bail them out so they can keep up their reckless spending and ignorant green agenda.
I think the day is approaching.
If the republicans take the white house in 2012 and control the senate and house then the best way to avoid absolute disaster is to let the country split apart.
Red states becoming a new free nation and blue states becoming a hopeless welfare disaster.
If the split is attempted when democrats control the government then millions will die in the conflagration.
I moved from CA when I joined the AF in '76 and I only visit family members there, too. CA was once a truly great state, but is now only a deteriorating shell of its former self.
I believe the same thing... sometime in the next 20 years. The nation is way too ideologically split to survive as a 50-state entity. A breakup is going to have to happen.
Last I looked (last night) he had over 70% of the vote in his stark-raving-mad district.
With that kind of logic, that makes you part of the problem for the abyss your state now teeters on, imo.
“Except a lot of folks who are leaving are fed up conservatives.”
Well, they better hurry then eh?
Not to worry. Atlas will continue to shrug off Kalifornia.
Part of any California bankruptcy agreement will be to honor those pensions in full. No matter what the cost to the citizens.
If the state actually did default, would that set the stage for splitting/creating 2 or more new states?
The idea’s been tossed around, but a true default in CA might be just what is needed to make that happen, and create 2 new entities that more truly represent the people that live in them.
If California won't secede, we need to push them out of the Union.
I was a poll worker and there were so many people who weren’t registered and came in and voted! They looked like Acorn types and each and every one came in and they weren’t on the roster so they voted ‘provisionary’.

Do you live in California? If not, then you have no clue. I’m not gonna fight traffic and crowds and waste my time on something that isn’t going to make a difference. Now if I lived in a swing state like Ohio, I would vote in every election because I know it could actually make a difference.
Let california sink. They have made their bed. The US House of Representatives had better not provide funding to bail them out or there will be hell to pay. They are not using my money to bail out the blood suckers in California, not when they have Billions sitting of shore in oil leases, and refuse to allow drilling.
Here’s what they are forgetting in California. They have always had a “backup” plan for bailout from the Feds ... so they can continue doing what they want. But, uh, there’s been a little change, folks. The “finances” for our government originate in the House of Representatives ... now controlled by fiscal conservatives (and a bunch of Tea Party people!). THIS house is not going to vote to bail out California ... and if they do ... then we’ll replace them as we did those who came before them. California is “on its own” ... they want to vote for screwy leadership and socialism ... no problem ... just don’t ask the rest of us to pay for those mistakes. We can NOW say ... “we ain’t payin’ for your lib shenanigans any more” (the fed financial backup of California disappeared last night).
I’m SOOOO happy we moved out of that state 15 years ago. I wish I didn’t have to set foot in it and spend a dime. Unfortunately, all my family still lives there, so we have to visit once in a while.
