Boehner congratulates the American people for voting right in these elections. As he speaks of his background where he worked liked crazy at odd jobs to make his way and the loss of American core values in America, he breaks down several times.
Boehner has had the confidence of the GOP House members because they find him trustworthy and his conservative bona fides are solid. I think he's going to do the US proud.
(BTW...I saw Boehner break down publicly two other times...once when he was terribly upset about the Dems blocking funding for our troops...the other when he was speaking at Ronald Reagan's funeral.)
I like the fact that he can get choked up when talking about what people have to get through in order to make it in this country, and I’m not surprised that someone so close to the horror of Obama should get choked up at such a momentous occasion.
But, you know he still has to deliver. I think he knows that. We’ll see either way.
i was touched by his emotion - like he was overcome by his blessings. i like people who can still feel that way and i wish him well.
I’m not in favor of excessive government spending but I do think Boehner should throw all of Pelosi’s crap out to the curb and have the office disinfected before he moves in.
His emotional speech just shows he’s a real person with humility, not some botoxed-up talking point automaton like his predecessor.
Have they already decided Boehner is the “man” for the job?
If so, congrats, John.
But tear-ing up is NO way to START. Man up.
I don’t want “emotions”-—leave those to the democrats.
(and LISTEN to the Tea Party——I am the leader, by the way....along with millions of others. WE are WARRIORS.)
Boehner gave a sincere, honest, simple and very good speech. He’s set a great tone.
Ok John. Now don’t RINO it up.
"Kin I get me a huntin' license here?
Or turned on the water works for the general public.
Color me skeptical.
I agree about Boener. We do not eed a man who breaks down, we need a speaker as hard as nails.A man in the mold of Tom DeLay.Being a sobbing drama queen who compromises with radical socialists is not going to get the job done. Boener will need to beat the tar out of the dens with superior coservatove ideas , which are supported by the Americam people.
This includes extended tax cuts and small business tax cuts to get employers to hire again. It means the defunding of Death Care.
We do not need a drama queen who even appears weak in this battle to come, and Boener is already demonstrating that he does not have the hutzpah it will take to get the job done.
The GOP is where it is tonight because of conservatives. The reach around /across the aisle blue blood Republicans like Boener had better remember that. If not, they may seal the country’s doom.
We need to purge the Senate of preening pontificating rip off artists.
But tear-ing up is NO way to START. Man up.
I dont want emotions-leave those to the democrats.
I my opinion, I think Jim Robinson nailed it with this statement a few days ago:
Michele Bachmann for Speaker!! She has more constitutional fortitude (balls) than all the rest of the Republicans combined!!
In fact, the entire Boehner common ground thread is interesting.
agree. he was humbled by his new role.good for him.
4 words dont screw it up
Common ground my eye.
I have had a belly full of compromise and coming together over the past 2 years.
You're only going to get that show of strength from the women candidates.
Sign of the times.
Just heard the boehner speech.
What a load of platitudes...
We have to try something new.. smaller gov blah blah blah...
No one ever thought of that before jackhole.

This asshat was acting as if he invented the idea.
What is clear is Obama doesn’t care. The man-child in him doesn’t. He is checkmated now. And his domestic agenda is DOA next year.
