Go ahead, say it. It's no longer mere fantasy or sheer folly to do so. A rare mix of veteran rejects and budding stars completed an unlikely ascent to the Major League summit Monday night, allowing all to repeat a five-word phrase never before heard:
World Series champion San Francisco Giants. The Giants made franchise history with a 3-1 triumph over the Rangers in Game 5 of the World Series, ignoring their underdog status to capture the 106th Fall Classic, four games to one.
An unlikely hero combined with a likely one to elevate San Francisco to new heights.

If Pelsoi, a Green, A Peace and Freedom Party candidate, and Cindy Sheehan all split the left vote evenly then maybe a Republican could win that seat with around 21%. ;p
It was a pretty boring WS. I’m happy to see former White Sox players Juan Uribe and Aaron Rowand get to be champions again though.
Her name rhymes with lousy, and begins with a `P`
I watched all 5 games, though baseball shouldn’t be played in November. Of course, I’m no fan of Renteria after the ‘97 Series.
Amazing!
Watched they play the Miami Dophins, who creamed them.
Lol at the person who went personal first. I detect a mancrush for a longhair. Funn-neeee.
If Texas had won it would still have been going on after the election, which is unheard I think. It didn’t even happen in the 9/11 delayed season of 2001 (off year elections) with a 7 game series and the end of the season delayed because of 9/11. Election day was 11/6 and game 7 was on 11/4. This time as I recall the WBC delayed the start of the season.
I wonder when the time will come for the Tribe and the Cubs. Neither team has made much of their most recent chances.
Meanwhile, we have Mark Teahan and Carlos Quentin! Makes you want to puke!!!
Thank God it’s finally over.
The Indians had a good run back in the ‘40’s and ‘50’s, but yeah, it’s probably time.
Then again, how long should Mariner fans have to wait?

Correction it happened last year. Nov 3 was election day and Game 6 was on Nov 4.
it’s a joke - I am crying in ranger beer.
The Mariners should have made in 2001 when they won 116 games. Sweet Lou sure knows how to lose in the playoffs.
lol.
I wasn’t sad to see Uribe go but he’s been playing well out west, he’s fun to watch when he plays well.
Rowand should never have been traded. It took us 5 years to finally have a center fielder that could hit again.
Meanwhile Brian Anderson is now a pitcher for KC. He may be on big club next year! The Alex Snelius family should donate 10000 dollars if anyone takes him deep.
I wonder how many more San Fransickos will contract HIV while celebrating.
We don't claim Houston the same way Michigan doesn't claim Detroit.
Who cares? Who cares? Was there some sort of game being played somewhere? I hope the residents of SF party long & hard (no pun intended) into Wednesday and forget about voting today.
Just know this... Houston has more gays, per capita, than any other major city in the country!
Says who? Did someone count, whatever it is you count on gays to come up with this statistic?
Statistics equal lies, more lies & damn lies
more like the usual sore butts.
"Says who? Did someone count, whatever it is you count on gays to come up with this statistic?"
He's from San Francisco, it appears, and probably did his own "survey" to determine the number of gays in Houston.
