Actor Morgan Freeman is the voice that narrates GOP congressional candidate B.J. Lawson's latest TV and radio ads.
It is Freeman who says: What is David Price afraid of? He was referring to the Democratic congressman.
Lawson said he was inspired by Freeman explaining the importance of the founding documents in his narration of a video about the Declaration of Independence.
Barbara Streisand wouldn't do this, but Morgan Freeman doesn't have a problem cutting ads against Washington insiders or he wouldn't do it, said Martin Avila, Lawson's campaign manager.

A lot of freed slaves took the surname Freeman.
In somewhat related news, if the emails I’m getting from MoveOn.org in the Triangle area (yes, I’m on their list, for intelligence gathering purposes....oddly enough, I’ve found no intelligence there yet), the lefties are having a SERIOUS problem finding enough volunteers in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro/Durham area to fill out their relatively modest request for volunteers to hand out material at polling places tomorrow.
To give you a hint, the latest email from this morning had the subject line “please please please.”
The desperation is palpable.
Yes, he is. So is Ernie Banks and Hank Aaron.
I’m signed up for a lot of Dem campaign e-mails too, and you’re right about their desperation.
The DCCC is also lying their asses off to their base, telling them they’ve got some mysterious polling data that just came in and with a few more bucks they’ll be able to turn things around. They’ve been running this same line over and over for the last week.
He’s got another series, ‘Through the Wormhole’, Science Channel.
terrific.
I will check it out!
I always liked him. He served in the military as an officer. I thought he was terrific at a young age in Dr. Stranglove. His nervous voice kept upping the tension. I saw a web interview where they asked him about Darth Vader. He said he needed the work and did not get paid that much. I think he had a little bit of the profits so that helped. I could tell he was a Repub because he was modest and self deprecating. Most lib Dems are ego maniacs.
He was very good in the Tom Clancy films too.
I get sick thinking how steroid cheaters stole Hank Aaron’s record.
That said, gooooo BJ!
Yeah, hank Aaron was the real deal. And a gentleman. God bless him.
I got 3 extra votes for Lawson, beside myself and wife.
Two of them have never voted.
It’s ashamed candidates can get away with outright lies and omissions in their ads, by law.
Price and Etheridge ads are pounding the idea their repub opponents want to raise the sales tax to 21%.
No mention they also want to get rid of income taxes.
Great! I was so worried that my family wouldn’t get off their butts to go vote on Tuesday that I talked them into voting absentee weeks ago. There’s 6 votes right there, and I’m trying to talk 2 friends into voting tomorrow.
Re: the ads, the Dems have been running the same line of attack across the country, the lie-by-omission about the “23% tax raise.” And, the other lie-by-omission about privatizing social security. Price, Etheridge, McIntyre, Kissell and Shuler have all been running ads with those themes.
Yeah, a dim talking point nationwide.
I’ll use Sarah Palin’s description “Corrupt B_______”
I have heard conservative things about him in the past.
I have always liked him.
Now I have another reason.
Freeman at least thinks that the dead Presidents on GOP money aren’t racist. ;d
Hank Aaron is still the Home Run King!
LOL! Post of the Week! (and it's only Monday). That's a keeper, great post!
I don't know but he is sleeping with her.
Yikers!
Now THAT’S creepy.
Aaron was a huge supporter of the Clintons.
I don’t know about Jones and Banks.
