It is with sad news that I report on the passing of longtime FReeper Carolinamom.
Her daughter notified Howlin this morning and told Howlin that her sister found their sweet mother Carolinamom (Miriam) this morning on the bathroom floor.
Her daughter told Howlin the neighbors said she had on the same clothes that she had on when she was working in her yard yesterday.
The medical examiner said Carolinamom may have died from a heart attack or stroke and said she didn't appear to have suffered the affects, and died peacefully.
She touched the lives of many here and elsewhere. She was a sweet and caring soul.
Please keep her closest friends and her immediate family in your thoughts and prayers today and in the days and years to come. Her daughters will certainly need the comforting prayers and loving embrace of our Lord and Savior. They're devastated this morning.

I wish I could get to NC for Miriam’s funeral.. right now knee deep still in out of town company & mom’s interment is this AM

I am so sorry to hear about CarolinaMom, Dolly. Prayers that all of her kids will keep strong through their grief, especially with the shock of losing her so suddenly.
I’m also sorry you won’t get to finally meet her in this life as you’d both planned, but maybe your Mom can keep her company until you get the chance later (tho’ much later!)
I hope your Mom’s memorial was just as blingy as she’d have wanted and that you and your brother were able to enjoy sharing memories with all the people who loved her yesterday.

That photo of the gorgous peonies she had grown that you posted here, aphid, was just such a wonderfully sweet & uplifting addition to this thread - especially since we all learned thatCmom had been workiing in her beloved garden before she died. Thank you.
My condolences to you & all her friends at FR & at other forums online. I know that every one of you will cherish those moments of heartfelt camaraderie you were lucky enough to share with her.
Boy, I do too. FR is missing a lot of its brightest & most distinctive voices. But wherever she is now, I hope she's still calling 'em like she sees 'em. Some people at FR resented that for some reason, but she's definitely one of the smarter ones on our side.

From what I understand from Howlin's communication with the family, the details of the service haven't been announced. Cavin-Cook Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
possibly an autopsy will have a couple extra days wait.
or like our situation, longer wait for people from out of town to make arrangements.
yes it has been a rough year.. actually rough past couple years loosing some of our brightest & best.

You never had to wonder where she stood. A great quality but can be abrasive to some. It’s a good sign the screen name is still active.
