It is with sad news that I report on the passing of longtime FReeper Carolinamom.
Her daughter notified Howlin this morning and told Howlin that her sister found their sweet mother Carolinamom (Miriam) this morning on the bathroom floor.
Her daughter told Howlin the neighbors said she had on the same clothes that she had on when she was working in her yard yesterday.
The medical examiner said Carolinamom may have died from a heart attack or stroke and said she didn't appear to have suffered the affects, and died peacefully.
She touched the lives of many here and elsewhere. She was a sweet and caring soul.
Please keep her closest friends and her immediate family in your thoughts and prayers today and in the days and years to come. Her daughters will certainly need the comforting prayers and loving embrace of our Lord and Savior. They're devastated this morning.
It took a bit before I could muster the courage to come to the thread and read the many tributes. Tarheel has a wonderful photo of Carolinamom which, if she can locate it, she will post.
Wife, Tarheel, and myself had the privilege of getting to meet Carolinamom, Miriam, doing the the SnowFlake years of Tony Snow. The first encounter I had was when bill Krystol came to speak at Davidson College. Since we didn't live too far away from each other, we set up a meeting at the talk. It was there that I learned first hand of Miriam's sharp wit and broad knowledge of events. Later, when Tony Snow spoke at Davidson, Tarheel and I met up with Miriam to form a SnowFlake cheering section. When Tony came on stage and recognized us, he gave that broad smile he was famous for and waved. Miriam began cheering so loud, Tony had to give her a hush signal!
After Tony's appearance we went on stage to chat. [You would think Carolinamom had just met Elvis, she was so excited.] Then she and Tarheel went off for lunch together and I tagged along behind Tony to get a couple of photos.
Carolinamom and Tarheel hit it off so well they went on to have a couple of lunch meetings and we joined with her at one of the many Tea Party gatherings we attended.
At least now, Bahbah will have fellow SnowFlake, Carolinamom, to share the meaning of the Tuesday election with. [Love to hear that conversation.]
Prayers up for Carolinamom’s family.
And, prayers up for our friend, Miriam.

Wonderful post Foxy! You can bet Miriam is meeting Tony up there in Heaven with fellow SnowFlake Bahbah and they’re all looking down upon us here in FReeperville.
Indeed! Tony is the Big Guy’s press secretary! LOL!

SUNRISE
When I shall come to the end of my way,
When I shall rest at the close of life’s day,
When “Welcome home” I shall hear Jesus say,
Oh, that will be sunrise for me. . . .
When in His beauty I see the great King,
Join with the ransomed His praises to sing,
When I shall join them my tribute to bring,
Oh, that will be sunrise for me. . .
When life is over and daylight is passed,
In heaven’s harbor my anchor is cast,
When I see Jesus my Savior at last,
Oh, that will be sunrise for me. . .
Refrain
Sunrise tomorrow, sunrise tomorrow,
Sunrise in glory is waiting for me;
Sunrise tomorrow, sunrise tomorrow,
Sunrise with Jesus for eternity.
