'With all the sudden blather surrounding devastating hits in football, the NFL has managed to deflect attention from the fact that the owners plan on canceling the 2011 season. This plan is not lost on the TV networks, who will not only have to shell out $4 billion to NFL owners for a whole lotta nothin, but will have to come up with alternative programming on Sundays and Mondays programming that wont own the Nielsen ratings like the NFL does.
NBC might be just ahead of the curve on this matter. If the 2011 season disappears, the Peacock Network will still be able to show football on Sunday nights just not the same football you might be accustomed to seeing.
NBC Sports and its partner Universal Sports Network, which is currently an over-the-air digital subchannel for most local NBC affiliates, bought the broadcast rights to the 2011 Rugby World Cup, which will be held in New Zealand starting in September of next year. Both networks plan to show all 48 matches, with the bulk of them shown live on Universal Sports.'

Eff the NFL. The NFL PAC is raising money to keep Democrats in power.

I follow politics now....athletes dont effect my daily life...
If they cancel next season, how will we know when it’s breast cancer awareness month?
Rugby instead of the NFL would be great.
NFL - A politically correct, Democrat-whore organization that has changed football from a sport into merely something used to kill time between commercials. Absolutely detestable.
Aussie Rules football would be nice, also.
Thanks to the blackout rules, fans are already getting used to not seeing as much football on Sundays as it is.
FIDDELDEDE ! I watch college football.
All Blacks for the win please.
How about Australian rules football? Very entertaining.
Here in the NY/NJ metropolitan area, there is a nasty war going on between Cablevision and News Corp; the latter owns Fox TV and some other local stations. They want Cablevision to pay some mega multi-million dollar fees in order to be allowed to carry their programming. They’ve been at an impasse for a couple of weeks, during which News Corp has pulled the plug on their programming for Cablevision, including the National League Baseball Playoffs, The World Series, and the NFC programming on Sundays (to say nothing of House, Glee, and their other popular shows.) I listened to one football game on the radio (for the first time in about 40 years) and I realized I can do without the whole shebang. A plague on both their houses.
Probably.
If not them, then the Springboks or the Aussies will probably win. France and the Argies the dark horses.
Scotland q-f, maybe semis with some luck.
CURLING!!!
SWEEEEEEEP....HURRY HARD!!!!!!!!!
English Premier League!!!
Australian Rules Football would be so much better - but their season starts in April!
DANG!!!
