The bottom line is, we aren’t just “in a cycle.” On 11/4/08 all things changed...nothing will be the same again.

Post for the week/year. Not many realize that yet. When they do, it's gonna get "interesting".

You might want to hire one or two of these people, they might be grateful to have a job as I was...

My biggest year was mid 150s two years ago. I got laid off a year ago after 20 years in the same company, Instead of searching for a job for 6-10 months, I took a job three months into my layoff period on a loading dock for less then a third of what I made. I have just finally weasled my way back into a job more suited for my career at the same company that gave me the loading dock job. And I am eternally grateful I got the chance to start out again.

Of course now I can’t afford my mortgage anymore, so I’m a deadbeat in many peoples eyes here. After my job went, my wife left me to move into cougerville, so there went that household income as well. I got three kids to feed as a single dad, and I am a single dad...she want’s no contact with them, she only sees the littlest one once in a while. It’s tough out there, but I will make it work....

You or someone you know will encounter it soon enough. It’s why there are so many college educated professionals out of work for so long. You want to label it as political behavior? No, it’s not. It’s just business.

Indeed. The USA I knew started to die in the '70s when we started to de-industrialize. I was called a "right wing nut" for being against the brand of "Free Trade" that was being palmed off on the public. I just shrugged and took what defensive measures were available to me (mostly just being prudent) and, so far, am OK.

You have a point. I think of some of these guys like Alexander Kerensky “standing up” to Lenin. Didn’t work out for that kind of socialist. There are youtube clips from movies about Kerensky meeting with the Tsar, righteously “democratically” taking down the structure of the country. Weak sister to the bolsheviks. And Kerensky ended up living in NYC and dying there in very nice digs.

It is time for some serious conservatives, and we have to make sure they aren’t CINOs who are really totalitarians.

Thanks, but I’ve been saying it since the 11/08 here on FR. When they do realize it, it will be too late.

As a carry forward... we no longer hire liberals at our company. IF these losers don't believe in and support the free enterprise system, why give them the fruits of the system? Hire conservatives who believe in and understand and support free enterprise. Maybe they'll think twice about supporting a candidate who wants to dismantle the system...

Thanks for the charts. There was a time when the numbers were pretty much reversed.

I can remember going to my grandmother’s house and she gave us bread with real butter. One taste, and I was asking mom, why can’t we have this ??

Same thing happened to me. I think I was eating at a Denny's with some other kids after a school dance, and we all got breakfast. All I could remember afterward was the taste of that real butter.

Thing is, Mom loved real butter, but having to budget for a family of nine on a soldier's salary kept her from buying a lot of things she otherwise would have. My parents grew up during the Great Depression, and really knew how to scrimp.

And .. not have to worry about even minimal pesky safety regulations or minimal environmental issues.

I can tell you stories about third world pharma raw material and finished product plants. Some involve body fluids, one I'll never forget involves a batch of HCTZ and toenails.

I would guess the poster is frustrated and filled with incredulous impotent outrage at what the MSM has done to us.

I'm sorry, but this guy is past outrage. He's got a full-blown obsession going on. Take a look at his posting history. It looks like the novel that Jack Nicholson's character was writing in The Shining.

Obama will not go willingly or easily. He's a divider and his last refuge will be cloaking himself as a minority, surrounding himself with minorities and claiming all against him are racists.

If he goes into that sort of bunker mode, even some blacks are going to withdraw their support from him. He'll look for all the world like a paranoid psychotic to most people, if he retreats behind the palace walls like that.

He may not want to go easily or willingly, but a retreat into the bunker will actually hasten and ensure that outcome. And there's every chance that the new Congress will cause him to become just that defensive, as they maneuver him into a position of impotency.

His chief lieutenants didn't need a crystal ball to see what's coming, so they've voted with their feet. I don't think it's terribly difficult to predict Obama's behavior over the next year or two.

The preferred strategy to get him out of the way will be to target him in such a way that it can be blamed on Republicans

Don't you just know it? That is the ONLY way for the Democrat party to keep the blacks on the plantation. If the majority of blacks even get the slightest suspicion that their own party is taking Obama down, there will be civil war on the left.

As you said, the Democrats need to pin the blame for Obama's downfall on the Republicans. I predict that they're going to do everything they can behind the scenes to help the Republicans take Obama down (while keeping their own fingerprints off the evidence, of course).

Poor Bozo. They're all agin 'im, now.

Good and let it serve notice to every voter and increase the size of their defeat. If they try to even pass that bill in committee just watch about 150 million Americans withdraw their funds from their 401K’s and see what it does to the economy and the Rats will get the blame. The country will then split apart.

And what exactly makes you think they won't make it retroactive and CLAW back those funds sitting in banks (who their LIVES to the .gov right now) from citizens' accounts? NOTHING is beyond these idiots in DC.

If it passes it will be via closed session of Congress and Obamamao will be on the steps of the Capitol Building with a pen in his hand to sign it.

When the GOP lost the House in 2006, Hastert shouldered the blame and resigned gracefully rather than cast aspersions at Bush.

Will Pelosi do the same? She is not gracious and I can’t see her slinking off. If she senses Obama is going to be jettisoned, I think she will pile on and fight to rescue her reputation.

Pelosi couldn't define the word, honor, if her life depended on it. She's a machine politician, who has no loyalty to anyone. She will abandon Obama and scramble to save her own hide, the moment the weight shifts toward his political demise.

I don't know what good it will do her. There's already lots of chatter about House Dems voicing their lack of confidence in her. She, as much as Obama, brought them to this ruin. It's unlikely they'll vote to keep her as Speaker.

Speaker is out of the question as Dems are going to lose the House. Best she might hope for is Minority Leader, but that will be a tough slog. I wonder if House Dems will have a free for all for ML, or if they will dutifully march in step behind whomever TPTB decide should have that role. Usually they are incredibly disciplined.

I just think there are many more idiots out there with the attention span and IQ level equal to (or lower than) the common house fly that would vote for her.

You're right about that, but think about this. Hillary already lost to someone who's proving to be the biggest loser of a president we've seen in our lifetimes. What's that say about her, except that she lost to a bum?

Are the house flies going to conclude that they were tricked by a slick con man (Obama), and conclude that they should have given their vote to Hillary in 2008? Is the whole Democrat base going to rally around her in a mass apologetic mea culpa, and cast their false messiah out of their hearts?

I don't know. The manipulation required to herd the sheeples into that frame of mind will have to be masterful.

Here's the Democrats' greatest obstacle to keeping the White House in 2012: blacks' expectations of a second Obama term. There's a huge percentage of blacks who will not accept ANY reason for Obama to step aside in 2012, and the Democrats cannot win without their votes and enthusiastic support of their candidate.

About the only way that I can see for the Democrats to achieve this, is for them to surreptitiously help the Republicans to impeach, convict, and remove Obama from office, prior to 2012. Blacks would then rally, unbidden, to whatever candidate the Dems choose to run.

If Obama simply steps aside, and chooses not to run, even he won't be able to rally blacks to vote for the Democrat candidate. Blacks will feel betrayed and will be too disillusioned to engage.

Frankly, Obama and his Commie Congress have made such a mess of things in this country, that I think it's highly unlikely that any Democrat could win the White House on his coat tails.

It’s up to the employer. The employer is the one investing time, money and resources into the training. The employer is the one who invested time, money, blood, sweat and tears into building the business.

The bottom line is that if it’s the employer’s experience or belief that hiring someone with a MS in engineering is not the best candidate for a warehouse manager or forklift driver, for whatever reason, that’s his choice. It’s not your place anymore than it’s the government’s place to second-guess that decision.

They don’t have to tell them anything. All they need to do is hire the person whom they believe will best advance the company’s objectives for that position. They don’t “owe” anybody a job.

And it’s “you’re”, not “your”.
