Prominent Republicans coming out in support of Harry Reid

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s re-election campaign has received several endorsements, but perhaps the most unusual one has been from an upstart band of his regular rivals, who have come together to support him under a banner that screams “swing vote”: Republicans for Reid.

The GOP group, formed well in advance of the midterm elections last year, has been slowly adding to its ranks ever since. For the most part, the 400-plus Republicans making up the list are prominent business owners, politicians, and political consultants with deep GOP ties — such as their leader, Sig Rogich.

RENO, Nev. — Former Republican National Committee Chairman Frank Fahrenkopf Jr. has endorsed Democratic Sen. Harry Reid, saying it would be a mistake for Nevadans to elect Republican Sharron Angle and lose Reid’s clout to protect the state’s lifeblood gambling industry.

Fahrenkopf, president of the American Gaming Association, suggested Angle should distance herself from the anti-gambling Campaign for Working Families, which has endorsed her and begun running television advertisements attacking Reid.

Some of the biggest beggars of free gubermint cheese are businessmen who expect gubermint to give them a leg up in free enterprise competition.

We must never assume that every member of the chamber of commerce is for less government and a freer society.

Oh please. Michael Bloomberg was ALSO a “republican.” And Arlen Specter, Snowe, Collins, McCain, Jeffords...the list is long and disgraceful. Give it up, lib media. Your guy can only win this one through breathtaking voter fraud. But not to worry...he is MORE than willing and capable of using it!!!

I would hate to think that Harry’s good ol’ Mormon friends are included in that list. We know those good folks can’t be bought. Especially during a get together at the Mustang Ranch.

Sarcasm intended!

Nobody wants to give up their piece of the pie.

For years people have viewed government as a big candy store. They don’t WANT us to go back to founding principles. They want their gravy train to continue. Republicans are guilty of the entitlement mentality also.

“”How did he buy your vote?” “

BINGO! A piece of legislation recently that he slipped through...

Harry Reid strikes again - new bureaucracy & more Aliens-Travel Promotion Act

From the Christian Science Monitor:

“Democrats plan to continue the strategy with a tourism promotion bill, The tourism bill, especially helpful to states such as Nevada, which has been hard hit by a drop-off in visitors, proposes creating a nonprofit corporation to promote travel to the United States and correct “misperceptions about US entry policy” since the 9/11 attacks. It would be financed by an annual assessment of $20 million from the tourism industry and $100 million a year from taxpayers. “

Let’s dissect this, shall we?

“The tourism bill, especially helpful to states such as Nevada, .......

Harry is behind in the polls for his re-election...just buying some votes!

” proposes creating a nonprofit corporation to promote travel to the United States....

Nonprofit? Since when has any government bureaucracy been for profit?? Will this be another cabinet level department? Yet another Czar? ‘non-profits’ will likely be in charge of handling this department....can you say ACORN???

“to promote travel to the United States and correct “misperceptions about US entry policy” since the 9/11 attacks. “

In other words, let ‘em all in! 40% of foreign aliens become visa overstay illegal aliens. Foreign women, even the well to do, come here to drop their anchor babies and then take them home to grow up as “US voting citizens”, where they don’t even have to be here to vote in our elections..... Or they stay here and get the benefits of any US Citizen. This directly effects countries who sponsor terrorism.

“It would be financed by an annual assessment of $20 million from the tourism industry and $100 million a year from taxpayers. “

Tourism industry....that would be Harry’s big donors at the Vegas casino’s. He must keep those big donors happy! $20 million to them is a great investment to get the rich Saudi’s, etc. in their casinos who can’t get here now because they sponsor terrorism. And the employees? Can you say SEIU???

“and $100 million a year from taxpayers. “ That one speaks for itself!

By the way, John McCain gets most of his money from the big casino boys in Vegas. Let’s see if he’s one of the republicans who help Harry out with this dangerous legislation.

Harry is real good at spending other people’s money, isn’t he??[snip]

Has anybody even looked into whether these people are registered Republican, and for how long, or who they donate money to?
