Good post, I had forgotten that about Bush. I am not real happy with obama's involvement in anything this serious. I can see NO reason that his entourage has to be this huge.

The road from the airport to downtowm Mumbai and the Taj is narrow and surrounded by close in buildings in many place. It is a nightmare for security force. There are a million windows withing RPG range of that road and probably 5 million people. The motorcade will attract millions of people.
First..there are tons of muslims in Mumbai and then there are tons of Hindu radicals who hate muslims. Obama can pick his religion for the trip.
The TAj would not be my choice of hotels for security. I stayed there many many times and it is exposed to the waterfront. The Oberoi would have been a better choice.
This will be an interesting visit..and by the way. The idea of running any kind of high tech electronic in the India parliament is bound to be problematic. In spite of all the high tech stuff coming out of India..the public power supply is unreliable and tends to run off HZ and voltage..with variations. Good luck guys. All the IT companies in India generate their own power.
