WBUR has received more than 30 calls and a slew of e-mails from listeners to complain about the firing of NPR news analyst Juan Williams, and three people have received refunds for their donations.
That number might not sound like a lot, but it is meaningful rarely do people make good on threats to cancel their support.
Member stations around the country many of them in the middle of fundraising this week live on the front lines. We get credit and, in this case, blame for NPRs decisions. Many listeners dont understand the distinction between the member station (WBUR) and the network (NPR).
WBUR, of course, played no part in the decision to fire Williams.
NPR has created a special website for member stations with talking points, contact information for media and listener inquiries and a link to NPRs ethics guidelines.
NPR says it is so inundated with complaints, the NPR.org Contact Us page has crashed.
This is delicious.. Williams(hard left water carrier) at the crux of the lefts nazi-like tactics.. Only thing wrong with it Roger Ailes hired him full time.. NOW I will have to listen to this idiot much more..
The communist fist tightening isn’t going over so well with Americans, eh?
Ha Ha! I love it. Poor liberals, getting a good dose of their own medicine!

“Soros’ millions has entered your veins. I will be contacting the new congress to urge that they stop funding npr.”
Well put.
No, Fox News did the right thing hiring Juan. Otherwise, it is just an echo chamber. You need to bounce ideas off of people with different backgrounds, you don’t hide from them.
An NPR radio station was what got me into classical music and I’ve been listening to it ever since. I wrote them a nice little letter today explaining my history with them, why I’ll never listen to them again, and why they won’t be seeing a dime from me.
Not that I ever donated in the first place, mind you. I was never THAT far gone.
“Even liberals are getting tired of it.”
Only the tiny portion of RATs that aren’t brainwashed.
Member stations around the country -- many of them in the middle of fundraising this week -- live on the front lines.
I say de-fund NPR. Then they can hire or fire whomever they would like to.
“foxnews=joke for hiring juanwilliams”
You do know that Juan Williams has been working for Fox for years and years, right?
I see a big, fat, bloated peice of the government that needs a trim down. :)
Juan Williams' voices his opinion on issues--it is what a news analyst does. I don't have to agree with him--and I often DO NOT--but I sure as hell will defend his right to state those opinions, because without such defense what rights will remain for me when I seek to express my opinions.
Of course, ALL my opinions are right since they are based on brilliant logic, scholarly erudition, superior intellect, and the high esteem in which they are held by my own ego!:)
