They should not participate in shows . . . that encourage punditry and speculation rather than fact-based analysis.”

Right...like no shows on NPR engage in speculation or punditry?

The only thing she seems sorry about is that it happened during fundraising week!

BTW Vivian, it's "principle" not "principal" but then we wouldn't expect someone like you to know the difference.

NPR is full of racists thugs...lol I don;t believe that. However that letter is pure bullsh$t. Go to the tapes - Mara Liason ? Nina Tottenburg ? Cokie Roberts ? They never said anything a news reporter shouldn;t say? Give me a break.

Not long ago I heard Tavis Smiley say that Christian terrorists kill people in America every day. He had on a middle eastern female guest who was relaying her accounts of being victimized by Muslim terrorists. Tavis interrupted her, all in a huff, claiming “Christians do that here every day. With all the school shootings, post offices, Oklahoma City. Every day.”

Have to love this part:

“We’re profoundly sorry that this happened during fundraising week. Juan’s comments were made Monday night and we did not feel it would be responsible to delay this action.”

Unfortunately, they will get a fortune from all the liberal, anti semitic scum out there.

Total BS, they claim Juan Williams isn’t supposed to state his opinion on ANY controversial subject.

Did they ever fire him for supporting abortion, or any other left wing position?

They fired him for thinking, and for going on Fox.

Remember your lesson, don’t you dare worry about any ME men on an airplane, and you blacks stay in line keep your damn mouths shut!

As you all well know, we offer views of all kinds on your air every day, but those views are expressed by those we interview – not our reporters and analysts

Lie #1 They didn't fire Needa Totebag................

George Soros’ Millions Buying ‘Political Reporters’ For NPR

What Won’t Get You Fired From NPR

Michael C. Moynihan | October 21, 2010

Wishing AIDS on your political enemies and their children. Check out this clip, from way back in 1995, of NPR’s Nina Totenberg telling the host of PBS’s Inside Washington that if there was “retributive justice” in the world the (admittedly loathsome) Jesse Helms would “get AIDS from a transfusion, or one of his grandchildren will get it.” Totenberg is still NPR’s legal affairs correspondent.

Obama had him fired.

Over the past several months I have seen Juan say things, from time to time, critical and unflattering of Obama. I strongly suspect that the call had already been made and this latest event simply provided cover for the real reason Juan was fired.

NPR doesn’t care what Juan Williams thinks about muslims flying on airplanes. NPR simply hates the fact that any accomplished black journalist, Juan Williams in this case, appears on Fox News in any form. One sentence taken out of context was all they needed to fire Juan. It aint about muslims. It’s about blacks straying off the liberal plantation and appearing on Fox News. JMHO.

Don't think of this as a memo, think of it as plaintiff's (Williams’) exhibit A. I am not a lawyer, but it seems to me that by knowingly tolerating a prohibited activity for an extended period of time, NPR gave its consent to such activity.

Williams will own them before this is all over.

From the memo: “Juan continued to violate this principal.”

Juan violated a school principal! I’d fire him, too!

Juan has continued to violate this principal.

Principal?? Was Juan frisky with the chief of NPR or it's merely about an interest only loans?

Soros has indeed funded NPR to the tune of $1.8 million with the intention of their hiring political reporters. He's also called for a boycott of Fox News, Glenn Beck in particular. Yet the best line in this correspondence, IMO, is "We’re profoundly sorry that this happened during fundraising week. Juan’s comments were made Monday night and we did not feel it would be responsible to delay this action".

I understand it was yesterday that CAIR filed a complaint with NPR regarding Juan Williams' comments to Bill O'Reilly.

I'm sure they felt it responsible to perform this action immediately after that complaint was filed. 1) No one in their right mind on the left wants to upset CAIR, and 2) NPR in no way wants to lose CAIR's funding...

I remember during the Bork hearings when either Nina or Cokie (and I wish I had a recording of this) reported on the video tapes that judge Bork rented. My, my, my. Only fact-based reporting allowed there, girls.
