He had on a middle eastern female guest who was relaying her accounts of being victimized by Muslim terrorists. Tavis interrupted her, all in a huff, claiming “Christians do that here every day. Check out this clip, from way back in 1995, of NPR’s Nina Totenberg telling the host of PBS’s Inside Washington that if there was “retributive justice” in the world the (admittedly loathsome) Jesse Helms would “get AIDS from a transfusion, or one of his grandchildren will get it.” Totenberg is still NPR’s legal affairs correspondent.

Over the past several months I have seen Juan say things, from time to time, critical and unflattering of Obama. I strongly suspect that the call had already been made and this latest event simply provided cover for the real reason Juan was fired.

NPR doesn’t care what Juan Williams thinks about muslims flying on airplanes. NPR simply hates the fact that any accomplished black journalist, Juan Williams in this case, appears on Fox News in any form. One sentence taken out of context was all they needed to fire Juan. Don't think of this as a memo, think of it as plaintiff's (Williams’) exhibit A. I am not a lawyer, but it seems to me that by knowingly tolerating a prohibited activity for an extended period of time, NPR gave its consent to such activity.

Williams will own them before this is all over.

Soros has indeed funded NPR to the tune of $1.8 million with the intention of their hiring political reporters. He's also called for a boycott of Fox News, Glenn Beck in particular. Yet the best line in this correspondence, IMO, is "We’re profoundly sorry that this happened during fundraising week. Juan’s comments were made Monday night and we did not feel it would be responsible to delay this action".

I understand it was yesterday that CAIR filed a complaint with NPR regarding Juan Williams' comments to Bill O'Reilly.

I'm sure they felt it responsible to perform this action immediately after that complaint was filed. 1) No one in their right mind on the left wants to upset CAIR, and 2) NPR in no way wants to lose CAIR's funding...
