"I don't want to be in Washington another six years and watch the Republican party betray the trust of the American people again. I mean, we had the White House. We had a majority in the House and the Senate. We voted for more spending and more earmarks. Most of our senior members seem to be focused on taking home the bacon. I'm going to be in a Republican party like that and that's not what the Republican Party is across America," Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) told FOX News.

I don’t think he is really about leaving it....but from his own words its more of a warning just like what Sarah was saying the other day...it’s the GOP last change or it will be Whig Party go Bust!

Rush has been saying the same thing.....it time that the GOP stop playing around and do what they have been saying they are going to do.

DeMint’s done it now. Karl Rove is gonna give him a good talkin to and if that doesn’t work he’ll stomp his feet and hold his breath until he turns blue.

Go Jim Go!

Just drop a couple of letters and call it the 'Republic Party'.

It was only one sentence in a fairly long interview, but Sarah Palin also said yesterday that this is the Republican party’s last chance to straighten up. Otherwise, they will be replaced.

It’s not a question of forming a new third party. It’s a question of whether the Republican party hacks decide to play politics as usual. If so, then the party is going to die, like the Whigs. Time to jump ship and form a new SECOND party.

There’s no more time for those games.

DeMint right now is my #1 choice for 2012. With solid conservative majorities in Congress great things could be accomplished and a lot of damage undone with this man at the helm.

If DeMint is the real deal, that would be great. I just have a hard time trusting any politician.

Jim DeMint, my hat is off to you! I’ve already started seeing the establishment start talking compromise...they seem to be getting a little cocky and they’re jumping the gun. Instead of bolting from the party...just organize effective resistance.

The writer of the headline took liberties with what DeMint said. I saw it and he did indeed say these things but I interpreted it to mean he would not run for reelection if things do not go well.

He was asked if he would run for president and while he said "no", it was a weak "no".

I hope he goes out and spreads this message far and wide! If it does not work, he will be the darling of the new party that pushes the GOP to third party status. Let it be said, let it be...
