DENVERColorado elections officials rolled out the first look at who's voting early this electionand so far more Republicans are voting than Democrats. The Colorado Secretary of State reports that about 195,000 voters have already cast ballots as of Wednesday afternoon. That figure includes mail-in and absentee voters who have already returned ballots, along with people who have voted in person at early balloting locations.
So far, just over 71,000 Democrats have voted, and about 81,500 Republicans have voted. About 41,000 unaffiliated voters have already cast ballots. The GOP has an advantage in the overall number of active voters, with almost 63,000 more registered Republicans than registered Democrats.
We better step it up...going to walk the precinct this weekend.
We voted this morning as well in El Paso County (Obama 39% in 2008). It seemed kind of light, but I’ve never voted this early, so I have no experience to judge it by.
I voted no on 60,61, and 101 because, relative to other places I’ve lived, taxes are very low here already, and I think the locals do a fairly decent job of keeping expenses under control (it is VASTLY different from California and the Blue Bastions I’ve lived in (Illinois, New Jersey, Boston and Michigan).
I am proud to say, as a Coloradoan, I voted for the Republicans and Tom Tancredo. It is a nice feeling.
Take friends and family with you!
Buck was horrible in the MTP debate... Foolishly talking about growing government - obvious verbal gaffes.
This is the problem with inexperienced candidates - they can become exhausted at the end and unready for the spotlight.
Buck acted like he didn’t even care if he won or lost.
...and of course he got the NRA “A” rating and endorsement.
I’m an NRA Life member and there ILA confuses me often.
Has anyone been doing exit polling on this? If they only do exit polling on election day and a majority of Republicans have voted by then.
I can hear it now, the exit polls show the Dems are going to win big but it didn’t turn out that way. Vote Fraud, watch for democrat districts to be counted last too so they know how many votes they need.
The Republican candidate should drop out of the Gov race now, Tancredo could pull this off for the Constitution Party if Maes leaves the race.
I was going to vote early but then I thought why give them days to count and manufacture votes opposing ours.
Absentee and early voting provide more opportunities for mischief than voting on election day.
You’re in a good area. It beats Boulder, for sure!
I voted on the first day of early voting at the polling places in El Paso county. I voted for Tom Tancredo for Governor. Ken Buck for U.S. Senate. “YES” on 60, 61, 62, 63, and 101. “NO” against the three Colorado Supreme Court Justices Michael Bender, Alex Martinez, and Nancy Rice.
