China Said to Widen Its Embargo of Minerals (EPA Closed the last mine in the U.S.)

HONG KONG — China, which has been blocking shipments of crucial minerals to Japan for the last month, has now quietly halted shipments of those materials to the United States and Europe, three industry officials said on Tuesday.

The Chinese action, involving rare earth minerals that are crucial to manufacturing many advanced products, seems certain to further intensify already rising trade and currency tensions with the West. Until recently, China typically sought quick and quiet accommodations on trade issues. But the interruption in rare earth supplies is the latest sign from Beijing that Chinese leaders are willing to use their growing economic muscle.

What? No way!

Exporting our entire industrial and technological base to a country that hates us and then borrowing trillions of dollars from them to bribe voters proves to be a bad idea! Who would have imagined! Its Inexplicable.

If you let someone put a chain around your neck they will yank it.

Already getting ready to blame Republicans I see.

Yes the EPA has to be dismantled.

To dismantle the EPA there are several things that have to happen.

. Most Republicans or most people have to first realize the threat the EPA poses, that it is above all other threats. How do you propose educating them all , or are Republicans born with this knowledge? How many Americans know what the EPA is , how it was created, what damage the EPA is doing to our economy, and how it can be dismantled? I bet not many know even all of these nor most nor any of these answers.

I admit that I'm not sure to how to dismantle the EPA but I assume there are a series of laws that have to be repealed like Obamacare has to be repealed. And to repeal these laws Republicans would need a 2/3 majority in Congress to override an Obama veto , a super majority otherwise..

You don't blame democrat Congresses that created this Agency and almost all others , no you blame Republicans for not solving a now unsolvable problem.

Time to tell the Feather-Indians that they are US citizens and have no more special claims. Time to get off the rez.

Words are easy...courts are not.

A US mine is scheduled to reopen soon ~ after suitible modifications. There is a RADIATION PROBLEM associated with rare earth mining that has to be considered.

Word is the Chinese are closing their own mines for the same reasons.

This all starts as THORIUM breaks down into RARE EARTHS.

Simply amazing, the very element that heats the Earth's insides through radioactive decay has some radioactive debris lying about.

These things are readily ascertained on the internet.

In addition to everything you said, (which people really need to understand about ANY industry in the US that goes dark and is shipped off-shore - whether it be steel plants, mines, manufacturing, farmland that is converted to something else, etc), once you shut down a mine that had been in operation, you need to file a new NEPA permitting process, and if the mine had been in conforming operation from before the Clinton administration, the new NEPA and NPDES permitting requirements are MUCH tougher than the old rules under which the mine had been operating.

For a mine of fair size, I’d reckon that permitting and other issues require an up-front cost of at least $0.5B to get the first load out.

I am...Look at our borders and cities slick....

They've aided and abetting this epic violent invasion for years. In fact, Bush and his GOP lap doges like you, publicly aided and abetted this invasion, and Bush sent his lap dog Rove up in front of the racist organization La Raza, to lend them credence and legitimacy.

Stop with the Republican bull sh*t.

I hope this is the straw that breaks the back of the EPA.

Our problems go far beyond earth minerals, although because of national defense that is a really serious matter.

I say that there are problems beyond that because:

We will never ever have again the manufacturing base in this country until we get rid of the EPA or at least return it to its original purpose.

We will never again have low unemployment in this country until we have a prosperous manufacturing base, as we had from the turn of the century through the 1980’s.

A huge part of our population is only happy when working with their hands, looking at the end of the day upon the results of their work.

These people are never happy in service jobs, especially those jobs where it takes months or years to see the results of their work.

We can't all be Wall Street, writers of software or high roller gamblers.

"You don't blame democrat Congresses that created this Agency and almost all others , no you blame Republicans for not solving a now unsolvable problem."

BS, I blame the electorate for accepting the NIMBY crap that has been foisted upon the entire country. It was a Republican President that backed the EPA (Nixon). As with all things, there are good and bad sides to everything. The cleanup of air quality and abandoned factories, mines and such has many benefits. However, the monster has gotten out of control and it has been taken over by leftist. I don't think the it need to be dismantled, just controlled. The Congress can unfund and direct what powers they are allowed. If done right, Obama will veto those issues at his own electoral peril. It most certainly is a solvable problem. If they don't solve it we need to replace them again.

Illegal aliens are an integral part of the Marxist/socialist takeover of America.
These illegals are being groomed to be a permanent Democrat underclass voting bloc.

But the liberal media and many here, like you democrat liars, say the problem are Republicans, who are the ones who stopped Amnesty for the 12 years they held a simple majority.

Go support your democrats/socialists.

And stop spamming this forum. whatever you say means nothing.

Very well said and I agree with you totally.

From Chinese sheet rock turning homes into toxic nightmares (how did the EPA miss that one?????)
To the CC scam of co2 emmissions. This is one agency that has to be ended.
