Looks like whoever designed it wasn’t really thinking.
the attachment should have been external.
They have had this capsule running up and down the shaft before. Now they are having a problem with attaching the cable????
Thank you don-o! I will check it out.
Does anybody know where we are as far as have they sent anybody down yet?
First trip down will be empty, then back up, then the medic goes down.
I agree the cable should have an external attachment.
We can rely on FReepers for commentary on what we see - surely more informative than 90% of the TeeVee spew.
It pains me to say that MSNBC has pretty good coverage.
miner rescue ping
Per the minister who spoke a few minutes back, they’re rigging it for TV, then they’ll make a test run. Hoisting it up is part of the early rigging process. Figure about an hour and a half now. Before the serious stuff starts.

I don’t get it either. The miners must be going nuts

No question about that!
Unlike our Dear Leader and BP, they wanted the best possible outcome.
A wagon wheel?....Are they using mules to pull them back up? j/k
I have to get this said and off my chest - We go to such effort and expense to save these men. This is a good thing. Yet, we go blithely on as hundred and thousands die daily from the legalized murder called “reproductive health.”
Lord, have mercy.
Everything on his face was puffy. Yes, she looked incredible. And she doesn’t even look like she has had plastic surgery.
I found good coverage of the mine story on CNN ... for now.
Thanks.
Im watching the MSNBC feed but there is no commentary...
Yes, indeed, can you imagine if they sent down the tube a big ol’ suction machine instead that brought the miners up piece by piece? Wouldn’t everyone get really grossed out and messed up in their heads after seeing something like that? Maybe that’s why there is so much mental illness in the world today. Because it doesn’t make sense why we’re not running to save the babies (and their mothers) from a lifetime of ruin just like the miners are being saved (which is, of course, a great and proper thing).
