When I think of people well-suited to lead a crusade against declining public civility, somehow Whoopi Goldberg doesn't spring to mind. Yet there was The View co-host on Morning Joe today, promoting what Amazon describes as: "her new book of observations [that] takes a funny and excruciatingly honest look at how a loss of civility is messing with the quality of life for all of us."
And sure enough, Whoopi engaged in a [seemingly endless] discussion with the MJ folks on the subject. Mika read a passage from the book in which Goldberg bemoaned the rise of "political incivility." Added Whoopi "it's not just the politicians. It's also just human beings interacting."
You mean, human beings like . . . Whoopi Goldberg? Just last month, while the debate over the Ground Zero mosque was raging, our Lachlan Markay caught Whoopi in a blatant breach of civility.

Civility is not exactly her strong suit.
Whoopi Goldberg is a serial abortionist. She murders children. This country has killed over 50 million babies in this way -- we criticize Hitler for killing 6 million Jews, but we're almost 10 times worse. We are a bad, immoral, wretched society, and retribution is coming.
I see no reason to sugarcoat it and try to be civil about this.

My question to Whoopi would be: “During your tenure on The View, and in your “comedy” routines, and in your interaction on talk shows, does your dialogue tend to reinforce civility or contribute to its decline?”

Civility is just an excuse for censorship. If Patrick Henry and Thomas Paine were “civil” we would still be licking the king’s boots.

She has a history of calling for “more civility” during Democratic admininstrations while being a total guttersnipe during Republican eras. Anyone with a reasonable memory can recall aspects of her comedy routine in the 80s when she spoke of Reagan’s treatment of people using male rape gestures or more recently when she compared W’s surname to her nether region.
Whoopi Goldberg talks out of her a*s so often it is hard to determine what is her face!
