....The NRAs bipartisan stance is potentially harming those hopes as its endorsed 39 Democratic candidates in the House....Believe it or not, the only ones who might help Nancy Pelosi save her House majority are those who run legislative affairs at the NRA. So called Blue Dog Democrats across the nation are campaigning as red meat conservatives in their home districts, while running deceptive ads about their Republican opponents. They campaign as if they have nothing to do with the Democrat Party that they propelled to power and which passed all of the nefarious legislation that they purport to oppose. The sick irony is that the more successful these liars are in distancing themselves from Pelosi, the more likely it will be that Pelosi will remain Speaker.

The problem with that theory is that the people they support are partisans and the Democrats will vote for Pelosi, or Schumer, or some other anti-gun nut.
That defeats the primary purpose.
I find it difficult to believe that you have people at the head of the NRA who cannot see this simple connection.

one way to end the “endless mailings” is to tape those postage pre-paid envelops to a box of rocks...

"The NRA has lot their way... Enough said! Find another group to support." OR you could join up and VOTE for NRA leaders that will change things. Like it or not, and despite its mistakes, the NRA is still very much needed.
To: Qbert
From where did you come up with that list of endorsements?
NRA-PVF Endorsement Policy
We are rapidly approaching the time when NRAs Political Action Committee the NRA Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) will begin issuing endorsements in elections across the country.
As always in an election year, we receive many calls and e-mails inquiring about our endorsement policy in general, and specific races in particular. That trend has certainly held up this year, as we have received many inquiries about high profile races, such as the Nevada Senate race. For the record, NRA-PVF has not yet announced any ratings or endorsements in this race.
With few exceptions, and for several reasons, we generally do not announce ratings or endorsements until closer to the elections. There are still votes to be graded and other information to be evaluated prior to issuing an accurate grade as Election Day nears.

What is with the NRA???
I think that the organization has been infiltrated with RINOs and Liberals because they certainly don’t seem to care about the true meaning of the second amendment.
Hint: It ain’t about hunting!

If an incumbent has a good record on firearms related matters, they WILL support them, regardless of what party they are a member of, or what their ideology is.
By supporting certain democrats, the NRA is empowering a party that has a known record of eroding gun rights. Its actions are self-defeating and stupid. The NRA is failing to broaden its focus and look at the big picture here, and gun owners everywhere will pay the price because of it.

Why the NRA Sucks and is anti-2nd Amendment in its actions.
1) There are a total of 53 Democrats in competitive/semi competitive districts that the NRA has endorsed.
2) Worse yet, they are endorsing these frauds over staunch pro gun legislators like Andy Harris (MD-1) and Kristi Noem (SD-At Large). They make it seem as if they are endorsing pro gun Democrats over anti gun Republicans!
These Democrats that NRA are endorsing are the same ones who voted for anti-2A Federal judges and confirmed the anti-gun Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan.
The NRA is helping stack the Supreme Court and Federal Courts with anti-gun judges by supporting Democrats.
To: Frantzie
They have destroyed the NRA Chuck Heston worked to build. I am done with the NRA.
That's funny!
Former NRA President Heston also supported banning guns. He did not believe that any citizen should be able to own an 'assault rifle'.
Heston on 6 May 1997: "
the fire power of these weapons is far more than a hunter or a homeowner would need. Why is it necessary to have those guns available anyway?"
NRA President Heston even supported the Brady Bill. How's that for a tough 2nd Amendment Supporter, siding with the Brady gang?
To: KoRn
“If an incumbent has a good record on firearms related matters, they WILL support them, regardless of what party they are a member of, or what their ideology is.
“
And yes, those Dems will be allowed to vote pro-gun as long as their votes aren’t needed by the Dem leadership for an anti-gun measure....just like the “pro-lfe” dems were forced to vote for Obamacare.
To: WaterBoard
Look, I too want to be the only one on the block with a real assault weapon but we've got some embassy guys around here and they have what look to be portable mini-guns they can mount on their armored SUVs.
Uncle Sam needs to give me something much more powerful to meet the local demands.
