CNN released this statement today:
“Rick Sanchez is no longer with the company. We thank Rick for his years of service and we wish him well.“
They will broadcast CNN Newsroom from 3-5pm for the foreseeable future.

It is from this jumping off point that he absolutely unleashed on Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, and at times his own network, on Pete Dominick’s satellite radio show yesterday.
The big takeaway – Sanchez calls Stewart “a bigot,” then walks it back a bit, and he implies CNN is run by Jews.
Ohhhhhh! That is reeeally good!
I fail to see how his rant is any different than that of say, Cindy Sheehan or Jeremiah Wright.

Heard a little on the radio talkshow on the way home, but this doesn't impinge on my world One Little Bit.
Although I admit for comedy he might have been good: Iceland is too cold for volcanoes? (I was held over for days in Europe when that volcano blew.)

I think they oughta give it to that woman (what's her name?) that was Rick's sidekick on the show.
It certainly wasn't HER fault that Sanchez was a butthole and got the axe.
Besides, I always felt bad for her that Sanchez made her just stand there all the time while he just sat there and never offered her a seat. I mean hey.... I know she has great legs and that, which is probably why he had her on the show. Just the same, you'd think that a gentleman would treat her with a little more respect than that.

Chrissy Matthews might beat Olby to it. Matthews went on an unhinged rant about Ron Johnson (the guy running against Feingold) tonight over his global warming skepticism positions.
He actually finished by saying “Back in the 1960s, we called people like that (enviro skeptics) PIGS”

I think I was mistaken about Sanchez being on probation for filming a pilot for another network.
I believe that was his MSNBC counterpart, David Schuster.
