It's looking like all out war against Fox News.
Just days after the president slammed the cable news network, declaring it "destructive" to America's long-term growth, the feds are suing Fox News for allegedly retaliating against a reporter who says she was discriminated against because of her age and gender.
It's the latest in increasingly hostile rhetoric against Fox News, not only from Obama but from Rahm Emanuel and the president's former communications director.
According to the lawsuit, filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on Thursday, Catherine Herridge, a national correspondent who covers homeland security complained about discriminatory practices in the network starting in 2006.
Herridge, now 46, claimed "female and black correspondents were given less desirable shifts" in the network and that oftentimes assignments (including an anchor job) were denied or "taken away from her" due to her sex and age.
In 2008, the network said it found no evidence of bias, and when her contract came up for renewal, it included language barring her from making more discrimination complaints, according to the lawsuit.
Herridge, who joined Fox News in 1996 as a London correspondent, refused to sign the contract.
The lawsuit says the language in the contract was retaliatory.

If I may, several years ago she had an infant with liver troubles. She donated part of hers. As I understand it, the procedure was hard on both the mother and child, and IIRC she almost died. I’d guess the short hair may be a result of that trauma, and perhaps even because of the challenges of time caring for an ill child.
Sure is!
“I wonder who is taking care of this sick child.”
He is doing just fine. He is in good health.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the real reason Catherine didn’t get an anchor job is that her “wrestlers neck” is just too hard to look at for any length of time. It’s distracting.
That is a very brave and selfless act that shows the love of a mother for her child. My shallow comment aside, that says a lot about her character.
I agree. She is cold.
The enemies of the State must be punished.
When Richard Nixon did this, it was because he was "paranoid".
When a liberal does this, it's because a Vast Right Wing Conspiracy is out to get him/her.
She might just have a case.
I'm confused too as to why the feds are involved.
WHAT ???
She’s on all the time, saw her just today.
I see her often too.
I read this thread early on and didn’t understand it, so I didn’t comment.
..... I’m confused too as to why the feds are involved.....
They want to destroy other minds just as your has been destroyed
The absolute pettiness of this administration is an embarrassment....
LOL! Yes there’s sumthin kind of effeminate about Shep, and it’s not just the makeup, though it doesn’t help
She looks like the KNEEL BEFORE ZOD chick.
Regards,
I’ve just lost all respect for Herridge. I do admire her for donating part of her liver (or was it a kidney?) so her baby could live, but after this, I think I’d prefer it if she went ahead and signed up at CNN.
More of a distraction from the real news of today: voter intimidation and reverse race discriminbation at the DoJ and WH.
Thank God.
Hmm Does having long blonde hair make one instantly gorgeous? I agree that having the wrong haircut can take away from one’s beauty but this woman’s face imo is just as attractive as some of the blondes on Fox, like Meagan. Picture Meagan with really short hair and I don’t think she would be considered more attractive than this woman. She just has the wrong hairstyle. But, personality has a lot to do with attractiveness and Catherine does seem to come across as cold and unsmiling. I also don’t think it’s professional to have newscasters showing cleavage on the serious news channels. Forgive my rambles I didn’t really sleep last night lol.
Catty? No. A critique of style versus substance? Yes.
