I am sincerely trying to understand your point.

Thank you for trying to understand my point. I'm sorry if I am still unclear but I don't think I have the skill to phrase it with any greater clarity. Hope you have a good evening and wishing you well...

My initial reaction was the same as yours: They should be charged with manslaughter. The other comments here do make a point: This was a dorm room, and the roommate had rights to it, too.

However, this case sounds similar to another one: There was a case where a man and woman shared a house, and he was arrested when she found out he had been videotaping her secretly.

If Mr. Ravi really wanted his roommate to stop engaging in this behavior in their room, he should’ve confronted him directly and maybe filed a complaint. Instead, he decided to videotape the man secretly and upload it to the internet for all to see.

Ironically, by committing suicide, this young man drew even more attention to something he obviously wanted to keep private. Very sad for his family. Imagine all of his parents’ hopes and dreams for him, and it all ending this way.

I agree with your assessment. Dorms are very small with two students sharing them. Sex should take place somewhere else. Ravi should have said no - go elsewhere, complained to the school, etc. My guess is this is common in the dorms.

Secretly video taping then streaming it live is against the law and violation of a person’s privacy plus just stupid.

I feel sorry for normal kids trying to go to college to get an education. This seems like a madhouse. Conservative kids probably have to listen to endless liberal, third world, PC BS all day long from professors, other students and administrators. Nonsense.

I read an article where they asked a defense attny about upping the charges etc. He said no. He did say because the kid killed himself that current charges will stick and the judge would usually let them off but not in this case.

I think Ravi may see some jail time.

Not true. Many sane people escape pain and suffering and some even do it to save their family from misery. Don’t sweep with such a broad brush there, TSgt.

A sane human does not kill him/herself.

Suicide is not a rational, sane thing to do.

Not so, the post says nothing of the sort. In fact it said much more but thats all been gone over. Nothing new to discuss any longer.

I aslo just noticed your ping...oops, I find some of your friends honesty questionable. I only wish I caugt on much sooner. Well, live and learn my debating with them is a waste of time - we don't disagree as much as they wish we did. Weird.

Yes, it was wrong. Did he have real privacy? No. He was stupid. He was weak. His sin killed him. Suicide was not the answer. Repentance was. The others involved deserve whatever they get as prescribed by law. Man's law and God's law.

He does not have his own place. So he attempted to eject his room mate to have privacy. I stated that before - you are choosing to ignore it because if you acknowledge it then you have no point. He was not entitled to privacy because privacy comes with having your own place. He might have gotten a hotel room.

This may shock you, but many colleges and universities have the Residence Advisors ("RA"s) instruct the freshmen at their dorm orientation meeting that if they want to have someone over for sex, they should ask their roommate to leave for awhile. It's called "sexiling." Acquaintances of mine encountered this even at the so-called Catholic university of Georgetown.

There is a stat out there that says homosexuals are 9 times more likely to commit suicide than straights.

While the gay lobby claims that homophobia causes suicide, I believe that in many cases it is the other way around: suicidally depressed teenagers try homosexuality as a form of self-medication. High-risk behavior releases adrenaline in the brain. This type of chemical dependency is not an effective solution; it may only mask the pain temporarily.

Yes, as I posted above..even the Swiss are alarmed at the rise of suicide in their gay, bisexual, transgendered, community, as they put it. So they are instituting more policies, ie, 5 and 6 year olds must be taught that anal sex is normal and natural thru children books.

Weird, since worldwide, all homosexual behavior is celebrated and encouraged, by the “news” media, TV, movies, in k-12 schools, all colleges practically worship anyone who “comes out”.

Canada even has laws forbidding preachers from speaking against this death-style. And one cannot write about this deadly behavior either for fear of reprisal. (same with Islam there). In Canada the protected class of homosexuals, bisexual, lesbians, and transgendered are now demanding special medical status, for their special “needs”.

It is really sick!

and it seems that homosexual men are the most judgemental.

for example, my hubby’s “alternative lifestyle” brother has been shunning him for the last over 7 years b/c he got divorced from the SHREW he was married to.

There are a lot of sins. We all sin. No one wants their sins filmed and put on the Internet. It’s more than mortifying, especially for a teenager. Utter mortification can lead to suicide. It is very common in Japan and a tually in our literature as well.

I am not christophobic. I was just frustrated. You guys always leap to condemn homosexuality but not gossip or other sins. You use the Bible to condemn one sin more than the other because it’s gross to you. You can’t imagine doing that particular sin. You have more sympathy for sins you could see yourself committing.

We did condemn the other sins.

but we want people to be warned that homosexuality is dangerous.

That it carries a price. You jumped in and pretended that we had said what the room mate had done was okay. That was not factual.

If you read the stories released today, you will find that Clamenti was producing gay porn of himself on the internet before this incident took place, and had joked about the room mate thing at his gay internet hangouts.

Before the suicide, he had evidently had an altercation with his older gay lover.

I am glad I was calling for a more moderate punishment for the room mate - who pranked a bunkie he new was a budding young porn wannabee - instead of joining the lynch mob clambering for years in prison.

You do not demonstrate the compassion you seem to think.

For the record, a lot of my peers are gay. I want them to not die. This will be the second year in a row none of my friends have died from eating disorders, suicide or overdoses provided we all make it to January. that seldom happens. You chose to assume because I stated homosexuality has a cost - and well it does - that I wish bad things on those stuck in it.

That assessment came from you, not from what I posted.

None of my kids have been preggers at 14 - Yours?

None of mine have been either party to an abortion, either.

Yours?

But you know what? They have sex.

Wow, you must be so proud. Sounds like your outing your kids on FR...thought you said you wouldn't do that.

*****************************

A sane human does not kill. Yet, they do it all the time. It’s why there is the “insanity” defense for the insane when they murder someone. There is a fine line between sanity and insanity which even the law recognizes. Many very sane people choose to kill themselves. Period.

Which church do you preach at? Or do you just sit in the pews and gossip about the other churchgoers?

I suspect the latter.

Is that all you got? Lame...

Why would you consider my comments preaching? You genuinely seem so proud that your children are having sex. And you clearly told me that you wouldn't "out" (whatever that means) your children on FR, but then proceeded to do so to another poster. No preaching, just fact.

Hmmmm. That pew suiting you? Who is having an affair with whom, in your church?

Have you made sure everyone knows about it, yet?

You live for this, don’t you?
