TV Host Maher Shows Another O'Donnell Clip

DOVER, Del. – TV comedian Bill Maher is taking another jab at Republican Delaware Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell, who as a conservative Christian activist was a frequent guest on his "Politically Incorrect" show in the 1990s.

After O'Donnell won last week's GOP primary in Delaware with the help of tea party activists, Maher played a 1999 tape in which she said she had dabbled in witchcraft while in high school.

Maher threatened to show more old clips of O'Donnell unless she appeared on his current cable show, "Real Time with Bill Maher."

On Friday night, Maher made good on his threat, showing another clip from the 1990s in which O'Donnell challenged the theory of evolution

>>> You state that as fact? Yes or no!

Well since you demand an answer, who am I to deny you one. “Yes”.

Anyone who didn’t sleep through high school biology would know in this context the Theory of Evolution speaks to the SLOW process of biological change.

“Evolution (also known as biological, genetic or organic evolution) is the change in the inherited traits of a population of organisms through successive generations”. Over many generations, heritable variation in traits is filtered by natural selection and the beneficial changes are successively retained through differential survival and reproduction.”

Key words there, many and generations.

So we have Christine clearly showing she doesn’t understand even the most basic and easiest to understand point of the ToE when she says why she disagrees with it. People occasionally elect stupid senators, but I think few voters really do it on purpose.

And next week is almost sure to be worse.

I do, too, and I think probly 95% of conservatives do, too, and probably a lot of Democrats and Independents.

You don’t accept that evolution occurs so naturally my point point re hominids was ignored: you don’t accept the idea that hominids were the ancestors of Man. And Natural Selection is not blind, statistical chance; it is a self-guiding process. I don’t want to get in an argument about ToE. I respect your views.

The only person I know who actually watches Bill Maher’s show is a rabid socialist who has a picture of the won, and his family on display.

LOL. If only it was that easy. Shooting the messenger won’t change facts though. She’s unelectable.

Stop your nonsense already.

You might as well be working for the opposition camp.

And, that crap about "shooting the messenger" is not what people are doing when they're calling you out on your duplicity.

You call yourself "the messenger", but if you don't like the message, why propagate it unless you want the opposition to win? Look, when the opposition is having a hard time or even an easy time, why should you be helping them in anyway at all?

You, as the "messenger" are just as harmful as the message itself. Oftentimes, the messenger can't be separated from the message. If you don't believe in the message, let it do whatever harm if might cause without you having to help it along. In fact, instead of allowing the message to exert its harm, why not try to bring forth a contrary message to prevent its harm?

Furthermore, the facts are not what you want others to believe. The "facts" to you are not the reality on the ground. Your statement that she's "unelectable" is something that the enemy will be glad to hear from the opposing camp. With your message, you become the enabler for the opposition.

BTW, Obama was very unelectable back in 2006. Remember? He had many times the negatives going for him than O'Donnel does at the moment. Obama was NEVER going to win, yet, who's the president now?

Oh, Christine is in SOOOO much trouble over this!

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/10/22/opinion/polls/main965223.shtml

Heh. Next, Maher will release a video showing O’Donnell opposing illegal immigration and the Ground Zero mosque (and other 70-30 issues of which Maher is on the wrong side)

But a marxist or an obama supporting RINO should? LOL!

Christine deserves the pen over most of the slimy corrupt legislature, of that I have no doubt. And she certainly deserves it over the likes of Graham, McCain, Castle, Hatch, Lugar, and any other RINO. I’ll take quirky over statist/fascist/communist any day.

My primary question is: Why was she on this show in the first place, and what was she trying to prove? She needs to address this now.

Another "republican" trying to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Yes, we won the primary. The RINO lost. Castle would have done far more damage to republicans than O'Donnell.

She has not been accused of a crime or anything morally outrageous, just silliness. By even coming on here and demanding that she answer for it you are carrying water for her enemies.

I am not bothered one bit by anything I have heard about her. I am very bothered that people such as yourself calling themselves republicans act like media lemmings by demanding an explanation for something that is obvious on its face.

My thought as well. Criminal?

I'm not familiar enough with the vagaries of the law to say for sure, but consider this: O'Donnell's presence on Maher's show constitutes something of considerable monetary value to Maher in terms of his viewership and commercial sponsorship.

Bingo! The problem is many conservatives and certainly moderate republicans are pansies who fall for group think during an election.

There aren’t going to be any senate votes on evolution or masturbation. She can hold all kinds of interesting opinions, and still be a fine person.

Imagine how uninformed Coons is by definition to be a liberal Obama democrat at this point!

I’m afraid you’re wrong. O'Donnell is toast and the worst candidate running on the Republican ticket. There’s just too much out there to lampoon her with. She did accomplish one thing though. She beat Mike Castle so at least that RINO is gone.

Agreed. Taking down RINOs, and running viable candidates with intelligence and integrity, are logically distinct tasks.

Happy belated FR Anniversary.

I suppose you said the same thing about the Murderer Ted Kennedy, right?

What do you fear from O'Donnell, that she'll lead the Nation into Marxism?

On the contrary, I do believe in evolution, just not so much in Evolution. Technically that still leaves the system expressed as theory. If natural selection is self-guiding, what is the mechanism, and how do we explain evolutionary dead-ends?

If she's the worst candidate, then how did she beat a long-time Republican who was supposed to be a shoo-in?

Do you realize how illogical you sound?

“This woman should never be allowed to hold a legislative pen in her hand. So much for a GOP-controlled Senate.”

You been paying attention? Senators do not legislate, they do not even read the bills they vote on.

It’s no fact. Well-educated people do indeed question the absence of any observed species evolution, and I’d include higher levels of life-forms such as monkeys and humans in that.

Just on the ToE you need to do more research yourself! The theory of gradual evolution was shot down LONG ago. It is shown to be unsupported by archeological evidences or by modeling based on statistics of genetic change.
