DOVER, Del. – TV comedian Bill Maher is taking another jab at Republican Delaware Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell, who as a conservative Christian activist was a frequent guest on his "Politically Incorrect" show in the 1990s.
After O'Donnell won last week's GOP primary in Delaware with the help of tea party activists, Maher played a 1999 tape in which she said she had dabbled in witchcraft while in high school.
Maher threatened to show more old clips of O'Donnell unless she appeared on his current cable show, "Real Time with Bill Maher."
On Friday night, Maher made good on his threat, showing another clip from the 1990s in which O'Donnell challenged the theory of evolution

I hope that Christine has enough backbone to refuse. I have no fundamental objection to an appearance on Maher's show, but I do when it comes to blackmail and similar threats. As for evolution, I wish our schools would teach the kids to question science, all science. Without that attitude, Einstein might never have questioned something as obvious - and imperfect - as Newton's laws.

IMHO beating Castle to replace him with a liberal democrat is a disaster. I agree she’s probably toast and the problem there is republicans panicked and ran at the outset.
I hope Castle does run and that might give her a shot at winning.
The reason “evolution” is a theory is that it cannot be proven mathematically nor experimentally replicated. Show me an archeopteryx fossil, give me an artist’s rendering and tell me that “proves” the “theory of evolution” because this or that bone structure looks like a similar one in a dinosaur. This does I believe a disservice to both Darwin and believers. Do the fittest survive? Mostly. Do species adapt? Not surprisingly, yes. Does everything happen by blind statistical chance? Now, that’s a big leap of faith in nothing.
Didn’t Maher tell Jay Leno that the American people had to be “dragged” to health care reform because they were stupid - because most of them didn’t believe in evolution?
SO he shows a clip where she expresses a view held by a majority of her countrymen, and this is supposed to be BAD for her?
I guess we see who’s really stupid.

I look at this “deep time” element as a weakness of the evolutionary theory. I don’t know what’s correct, of course, but when defenders of the theory have to rely on the idea that “we have no concept of the amount of time necessary for all these changes to occur” they might as well say, “We have no idea at all of how these changes occurred.” It’s a weakness in a theory that can never be more than a theory (because we were not there and cannot conduct experiments to prove anything, one way or the other). However, the Maher audience, I’m sure, has no appetite for debate or critical thinking, and they, no doubt, have been taught that evolution is, in fact, fact. This will probably harm her among the crowd who wouldn’t vote for her anyway but will ridicule her more.
Feel your pain.....Could sure use a cup of coffee, but it’s not on my diet list...
To paraphrase Han Solo from "Star Wars," "Because a Christian won't cut your head off when he loses!" At heart, leftists are complete and total cowards, who will not stand up for their beliefs if it could cost them. Sure, they'll be happy to kill YOU for your beliefs, but they'll switch sides to save their own skins in a heartbeat.

Exactly, people getting their panties in a bunch over this is laughable. If this is the best Maher can do he’s got nothing and he simply needs to be ignored.
Christine is fine no matter what the hand-wringers say. She’s got plenty of time and a load of cash to get out her message out. She can’t be tied to zer0 or the establishment and that’s gonna win this time around.
Maher is a bitter leftist that hates Christ. He will show anything he believes will damage ODonnell. Guaranteed. No matter what he says. Blackmail? Pathetic loser. Ignore him.
