Elizabeth Warren: First Amendment Right 'Scares Me', Needs 'Dialing Back'

Remember the MSM brouhaha when some conservatives suggested reconsidering the automatic granting of citizenship to children born in the US to illegal immigrants? Suddenly, the sanctity of the 14th Amendment became the single most precious thing to liberalseven though no amendment of it, let alone its abolition, would have been necessary to revise the policy on birthright citizenship.
So should we expect the liberal media to take up its constitutional cudgel against Elizabeth Warren? After all, Pres. Obama's newly appointed [not nominated] head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau went on Morning Joe today and in effect proclaimed that the right to petition government for the redress of government "scares" her. More disturbingly, Warren suggested we need to work on "dialing back" that right.

I think we should have a firing squad set up when these people take their oath of office, you know, when the say they will defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. When they something like dialing back the force of a constitutional amendment we have a prima facia case of treason: BANG.

I was listening to a teleconference yesterday where one of the presenters was from Mass General. I’m now convinced that a large percentage of the Harvard faculty are nuts, and this was a medicine conference, so she’s no surprises since she’s a lawyer.

Every one can be free,
But they have to agree to be free.
They have to agree to be less free than me.
Because I rule the world, you see. Nice job...I don't see 10cc quoted everyday!!

As egregious as Elizabeth Warren's lack of knowledge of rights is, the writer of this piece has his own misunderstanding as well. And it is of the same sort.
He writes:
the First Amendment or the right it established to "petition government for a redress of grievances."
The First Amendment didn't establish rights. It simply recognizes them and protects them. Or it's supposed to anyhow.
This is not a minor quibble. The first principle of this republic is that our rights come from God, not from any man, and that those rights are therefore unalienable.
What man arbitrarily gives, he can arbitrarily take away.

All of these socialist monsters are afraid of the 1st amendment. There is a reason. They fear jail time or worse. Hunt them down. Ridicule them. Get in their face. Show them the exit door.

The left fears and despises ANY freedom of information and speech,
because their ideology is inherently based on LIES,
and the truth is irrefutable.

It’s a pure coincidence that virtually every high level position in the Obama regime is filled with a Marxist, Socialist, or totalitarian sympathizer.

As the writer of the original article, let me respond. I considered your point in writing the article. But whereas the Declaration states that we were “endowed by our Creator” with certain rights, including life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, it’s not clear to me that the right to petition government for the redress of grievances was considered to rise to the level of a God-given right.
