INCOLN, Del. Republican Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell is making light of comments she made more than a decade ago when she was in high school about having dabbled in witchcraft.
"How many of you didn't hang out with questionable folks in high school?" she asked fellow Republicans at a GOP picnic in southern Delaware on Sunday.
"There's been no witchcraft since. If there was, Karl Rove would be a supporter now," O'Donnell jokingly assured the crowd.

Baloney. The youtube video is there for all to watch and hear what she says in her own words. It was stupid and she has to live with it.
No, it was not stupid given the reason for her appearance on the show, no story of redemption is stupid. Yes, she has to live with slimes like Maher and the MSM quoting out of context, but that is true no matter what you say. Christine did just fine all things considered.
Of course it was stupid - dabbling in witchcraft is stupid and telling the world about it is stupid. The only thing worse is watching someone like you twist yourself around like a pretzel trying to defend such a stupid statement.
Not a twist at all, its about as straight and obvious as can be.

Thanks to you both. I got some email and did a little further digging. It appears you are both right...seems she was a semi regular foil for Maher, Martin Mull and others on “Politically Incorrect”.
