Police in Santa Fe are searching for the suspect or suspects in a drive-by shooting that killed a pet goat.
Santa Fe Police Chief Aric Wheeler says his agency is extremely concerned because the shooting happened in a central city neighborhood. Besides animal cruelty charges, Wheeler tells the Santa Fe New Mexican that the suspect could face felony charges of shooting at an occupied building and negligent firearm use.

Drive by, eh? Was this goat a member of a Mexican drug cartel?

Sounds like it could be a domestic violence event. Was the husband a muzzie? Probably an honor killing...

Let me be the first to make a serious comment.
A bud of mine from a previous life ran a goat farm. Until I came for a visit, I'd always thought of goats as miniature cows or slightly smarter sheep.
I came away charmed. Goats are smart and have a lot of personality. He could call them by name and they'd come. I could easily see how someone could make a pet out of a goat, and not just for Muzzie purposes.

This is terrible. We must morn.
First we build a funeral pyre.
Then we place Marias body on the pyre for an appropriate amount of time.
Then carefully wrap the body in warm soft tortillas.
Complete the morning period with large quantities of cold beer and a shot or two of tequila.

You are quite right. I will start gathering the Mesquite wood for the pyre.

AH yes, Mesquite.

We must show the proper respect.
