O'Donnell up 47-44 over Castle, in PPP poll!
Public Policy Polling ^ | 9/12/10 | dfergu7477

Posted on 09/12/2010 6:48:53 PM PDT by dfergu7477

Raleigh, N.C. – It looks like there’s a real possibility of a major upset in the Delaware Senate primary on Tuesday night, with insurgent conservative Christine O’Donnell leading longtime Congressman and Governor Mike Castle 47-44. That 3 point lead is well within the poll’s margin of error. If Castle is indeed defeated Tuesday night it will be yet another sign that conservatives have a strangle hold on the Republican Party and moderates may or may not be welcome anymore. Castle has an overwhelming 69-21 lead with moderate voters but they only make up 33% of the likely primary electorate. O’Donnell has a 62-31 lead with conservatives that’s more than enough to propel her to the overall lead. It’s clear that Castle’s popularity has taken a sharp turn in the wrong direction over the last month. An August PPP poll found his favorability with Delaware Republicans at a 60/25 spread. Now his favorables within the party are negative at 43/47. That’s largely a product of 55% of voters in his party saying they think he’s too liberal compared to 37% who think he’s about right. GOP voters are pretty sharply divided about O’Donnell as well. 45% have a favorable opinion of her with 41% seeing her unfavorably. Only 50% of primary voters think she’s fit to hold public office but she does much better than Castle on the ideology front- 53% think she’s about right. If O’Donnell pulls it out Tuesday night it will be a major victory for Delaware’s small but united group of Tea Party voters. Just 25% of Republicans in the state consider themselves to be members of that movement but they give her a 79-18 advantage that’s more than enough to overcome her 52-39 deficit with everyone else.

Whenever the old guard leftest media refers to a Republican as “moderate”, that’s code for “super-liberal”. An actual moderate Republican is referred to as a “conservative” by the leftest media. And an actual conservative Repulican is referred to as a “nutjob” by the leftest media.

Stop and think what you are saying.

I am taking the words of long time Republicans, long time Conservative activist organizations, her own written statements, court records and a long time Conservative journalist over a woman who wanted a Conservative organization to give her $6.9 million because they fired her for cause!

..... and you have a problem with that?

Any woman, any person who wants $ 6.9 million because they were fired is a scammer. Period.

Do you believe Benny Hinn too? He is a super straignt, super Christian. Just ask him. He'll tell you.

TEA didn't check her out. Shame on them.

Sorry, but you and TEA were so easy to fool in this case.

Did you ever stop to think that the only person who said all this happened... and the only one who claims she is a Conservative, is her?

It's like Obama. Don't believe he is a Christian. Just ask Rev. Wright. He'll swear to it on a stack of Bibles!

Go Angle, Toomey, Rand, Joe Miller, O’Donnell, Ken Buck, Pat Toomey, Marco Rubio...

Are you disdainful of that whole list, or just Angle and O’Donnell? I take exception that you think I am "distainful" of either Angle or O'Donnell. I was happy when Miller took down Murkowski in Alaska and Rubio banished Crist to I status in Florida. In theory, I support all the tea party candidats. I just live in the real world.

I am sorry. In that world, a tea party Republican has issues getting elected in liberal Delaware and when Republican control of the Senate hangs in the balance, I'll hold my nose and let a RINO in the big tent.

Angle is electable in Nevada, but faces an tougher battle in part because of her views, which are slightly right of the state, in part because her campaign was pretty inept after the primary and in part because Harry Reid is well, Harry Reid and has a huge warchest and a lot of power.

It didn't help that Angle made a number of missteps until the Republican establishment started helping in the campaign. Hopefully, she can recover. Taking out Dirty Harry Reid would be the cherry on top of the 2010 electoral sundae.

Why Odonell is unelectable:
-she eats puppies. caltle likes puppies
-she once bought something on amazon.com without paying local taxes. Castle wants to close the ebay loophole.
-Obama would never vote for her. Obama would vote for castle.
-Odonell does not do regular interviews with CNN. Castle is on cnn all the time.
-Odonell has the same problems as regular americans. Castle has the ability to completly ignore voter complaints.

“It didn’t help that Angle made a number of missteps until the Republican establishment started helping in the campaign.”

The Tea Party has infused Sharron Angle’s campaign with advertising cash, and that has helped bring her back from Reid’s negative rubbish. As to the Republicans there, well three cheers for doing what they *should* be doing - supporting the Republican nominee.

To me, this is a clerical matter that she subsequently took care of.

See...there's the $6.9 million--they wanted her to do clerical duties, and she's clearly not competent in them!

“Sorry, but you and TEA were so easy to fool in this case...Did you ever stop to think that the only person who said all this happened... and the only one who claims she is a Conservative, is her?”

Like I said, ‘he said/she said.’ However you completely discount O’Donnell’s claims. I’m simply saying her claims may not have been falacious, and as a $65K year employee, this lawsuit may have seemed her only recourse. You disagree and say she was rightfully terminated. He said, she said.

Do you believe that all Conservative organizations are perfect?

Do you believe that no Conservative organizations have maltreated women, or had jerks who did?

I think I’ll lean on the side of large numbers on that - so on this one, you are the one ‘so easy to fool’.

Now, I’m not saying Christine O’Donnell is telling the truth. I’m saying I’m giving her the benefit of the doubt knowing what I know about ‘red blooded’ males. I suppose you differ with that opinion.

Thanks for your service to this nation MindBender.

Today, September 14th is election day in Delaware, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, and Maryland.

GOTV in those states and if you have a member of the military serving in those states make sure you get them their ballot ASAP for the General on Nov 2nd.

Almighty and most merciful Father, we humbly beseech Thee, of Thy great goodness, to grant our conservative candidates victory in today’s primaries. Graciously hearken to us as we call upon Thee that, armed with Thy power, we may advance from victory to victory, and crush the oppression and wickedness of our enemies and establish Thy justice among men and our Nation.

Had she filed for a years wages and court costs, I would have seen it is a woman probably trying to right a wrong.

Any time you see these huge demands, $6.9 mil in this case, especially when they are statutorily limited to much smaller amounts, and when they file Pro Se, it is a huge red flag that a plaintiff is trying to scare the def into a settlement.

It's like in my "crusading TV reporter" days when we would get numerous calls about supposed spousal child abuse. 80% to 90% were BS, just a former wife trying to scare her ex into a big settlement.

I may be wrong but it appears in this case, she got zip.... so that tells us a lot.

Be well, and I think we both need to remember that the big issue, regardless of who wins tonight, is to defeat the D in the General!
