Though a member of FR for years now I Haven’t written a vanity in a long time, but because of the events of the last few days re-- the quran burning controversy, I am going to break that trend and humbly ask that my fellow freepers read this.
When crosses were put in urine, when flags are burned, when the virgin mary was depicted with feces, what was our response? Yes it stung, yes it made many of us angry, but our response was we denounced these actions with words. There was no violence, nor threat of violence.
Contrast that to the response of muslims to burning the Koran. We are told in no uncertain terms that if Korans are burned there will be violence.
The answer in this situation should have been obvious--however angry the burning of a Koran may make you, you cannot make threats to silence people, that is completely unacceptable.
Somehow though, over the last few days, the left ,the conservative punditry and sadly even some here on the right, have, instead opted to confer exalted status on Islam. Giving Muslims the right not to be offended, and if offended, the right to threaten violence. This is a status no other religion in the world enjoys, NOR EVER SHOULD.
And that is why muhammed must be depicted, and that is why Korans need to be burned, to show muslims they cannot dictate to us what we can and can’t do with threats of violence.
That is what should have happened, instead sadly, the opposite, the ultimate appeasement occurred.
This was a pivotal moment in our history and we blew it big time.
All I can say is that if we continue down this road of surrendering constitutional rights so that muslims won’t be offended and won’t hurt us for it, then we may as well pack up our soldiers and bring them home, because we’ll have lost the war on terror, in our own backyard.
We are at war, and you are right - we may have lost.

Bottom line is, like it or not, if anyone in this country (the land of the free) chooses to burn ANY book (or merely threaten to do so), it is THEIR RIGHT to do so, REGARDLESS OF THE NATURE OF THE BOOK, including the Bible or the Koran. For the FBI to show up at someone’s door merely for announcing their intentions to burn a book, America is no longer free. THAT is the story here.
I think it’s possible we could somehow trick Joe Biden into burning a Koran.
They already control TV through stock ownership and deals between the Saudis with 5 of the 6 TV networks who own most of the channels.
They can run stories on TV and demonize anyone who stands up to them and beat them in about 2 hours.
Americans gave away their liberty for the TV clicker. I dumped TV a year ago because I knew it was ALL for the saudi agent mole and for Islam.
Americans will keep watching and watching their ball games with “stupid white man” commercials. 24x7 brainwashing the masses.
“We” have not blown it. I’m using the Koran to light and smoke some Pork Shoulder, and grill some sausage tomorrow.
Before, I thought this was just an act in poor taste; the Mussie animals made this something I have to do - you do not appease a bully.
So, I’m gonna smoke some pork (injected with Peach Nectar and Apple Juice) using the Koran to light the grill, and wipe it down later on.
The greased paper will then be burned, and after about a half-dozen cold Dt. Cokes; I’ll put the fire out in a way that seems natural.
The remains of the Koran will go into the compost pile, with my dog and cat feces.
I was initially opposed to Koran burning.
But the reaction to it has made it necessary.
All free people must burn a Koran if they wish to remain free.
They control TV and it does not matter. They destroyed Bush. They will destroy anyone using TV who stands up to them. As long as idiots watch plus pay cable and sat TV bills - they have the power.

Bingo! Some twit on the local news station’s facebook actually wrote that he should be arrested before he could act. It’s quite frightening the level of sheer ignorance in the younger people.

I am going to cook some pork ribs and chops and use the Koran to light the briquettes. The grease from these delicacies will help the Koran pages burn and smell so wonderful. The vinegar from the sauce will also add to the aroma.My only regret is that I won’t be able to see a Moose limb react to my sensitive treatment of the book of evil.

Given to overstatement much? On the other hand, I agree with the spirit of your post. How about a national kookran burning day. It could easily go viral.
Which is most signficant and important to the citizens of this country (1) the First Amendment rights of our Constitution or (2) preventing insult to the religion, (Sharia) law and customs of an alien culture? That’s the question..not matters of good judgement, sensitivity to others feelings and the like.
