GAINESVILLE, Fla. The anti-Muslim leader of a tiny Florida church says he was lied to and is rethinking his decision to cancel burning Qurans to mark 9/11.
Pastor Terry Jones earlier Thursday had backed off his threat to burn the Quran after he said he was promised that a planned Islamic center and mosque would be moved away from New York's ground zero. Muslim leaders denied there was such a deal.
Later outside his church he said that the imam he thought he made the deal with "clearly, clearly lied to us" about moving the mosque.

9/11 Backyard Koran Burning Parties....this has big possibilities, in beer sales alone!
Yup, back in the day when I took journalism (in high school) you were supposed to just report facts and go to great lengths to stay detached. That has certainly gone by the wayside.
Give me a break. The preacher man didn’t say anything about the mosque when he ‘announced’ his koran burning back in July. The media made this man famous and their purpose in doing so is suspect and sinister....but not because some saud owns a non-voting minority share in Fox, but because they are trying to stir up trouble, divide and conquer conservative cristians at the polls and protect Obama. You do nothing but assist them in their cause with your constant rants about Fox News. Who are you working for here? At least Fox News exposes Obama and presents our viewpoint for balance. That is more than I can say of any other media outlet in this country.
God Bless Fox News!!
Where did you read/hear this?
Lemme guess Obama is sending AF1 and having beer with the preacher and Imam?
Does anybody have a recipe for BarBeQuran? How much pig renderings do we need per page?
According to the koran, all the rules of humanity are suspended if done in the name of jihad. In other words, the end justifies the means. (Sound familiar?)
Lol,,,lets hope that we see them on youtube...in a deteriorating condition.
Nice analysis.
Liberals and muzzies lie. In my bill collecting days, a muzzie was almost certain to say “oh no, you want my brother. He is mullah zebra hoi hot potato, I am hot potato zebra hoi mullah. Seriously, collecting a debt from these people was a one in ten chance at best regardless of ability to pay.
While this preacher is the best illustration of why I do not trust organized churches, he does seem to have stumbled bassakwards into a golden opportunity to expose the hypocrisy of the muzzies over the 9-11 mosque. Kudos to him if he embarrasses them into to moving it.
Freeper muawiyah
It was.
Actually, I'm half wondering if Pastor Jones didn't "taquiah" the Imam...meet with him in private, exchange some niceties, then hold a press conference and announce the "deal". When the Imam claims there was no such deal, Jones gets to call the Imam the liar and it's one's word against the other's.
If that's what transpired, my hat is truly off to Jones for playing the media and the Imam like cheap fiddles.
Excellent suggestion!
Indeed. I have gone to thinking this may be a nut who wants to burn a few books to thinking this guy is actually more like Kasparov.
Bush had Islam on the run.
Oboma has Americans on the run.
I’m starting to think this guy is a genius as well. We should e-mail him or call him and tell him what a great job he’s doing exposing the muzzies for what they are!
I am no brainiac, but when I heard this preacher talking on the radio this evening, I got the sense he was either making up this whole conversation with the Imam, or he was just delusional.
Sometimes it IS fun to watch crazy people. Except there are folks who don’t know they are crazy...and they agree with him.
Get the popcorn ready.
