Tropical Storm Hermine has formed in the Bay of Campeche. The small system is slowly moving North at 8 mph. Widespread deep tropical moisture over the southwest Gulf of Mexico and the Bay of Campeche will combine with TS Hermine across the southwest Gulf of Mexico to increase the possibility of heavy rainfall over the lower Rio Grande Valley and deep south Texas Monday through Wednesday. Hermine is the eighth tropical storm of the 2010 season.

Well, at least it’s not a hurricane. Rain maker and some decent winds.

Because 'Katrina' is so much better. /sI'd say Katrina earned its bad name for a multitude of reasons including another way for Democrats to unfairly blackmail any opposing party through media manipulation and political subterfuge.

I REALLY WISH THE WEATHER SERVICE WOULD GET OVER ITS TELETYPE-ERA HABIT OF PUBLISHING IN ALL-CAPS. IT’S SO HARD TO READ.

Bad news for folks re: flooding. I do wish we could bottle some of that rain and send it up here to CO. There's a huge fire burning NW of us right now. The smoke is getting bad. :(

Liberty, if the power goes out and they have a radio tell them to tune into 710 am. They go open lines during a hurricane
Some calls are flat out hilarious and it helps the time pass while things are moaning and crashing around you.
Mostly though, it’s impressive to listen to the things that people will do for total strangers. People really are good at heart.

We have a big band coming into Corpus Christ area shortly. Drove around today from Port Aransas to North Padre Island to Corpus to Rockport and back to Aransas Pass. Water levels are quite high in the bays. Very little rain. Looks like Hermine will come into Mexico and move north. There were a few dozen shrimp boats docked in Conn Brown Harbor in Aransas Pass. It was kind of cool to see that many boats there.
Very quiet day here.

I see that band coming across your area now. Thanks for your local update. Hoping Hermine doesn’t make for a sleepless night. Keep us posted as you can.

That would be nice, but don’t think it’ll happen. Predictions call for 5-7” of rain and it just started.
