The month of September 2005 was a very busy month for President Bush after Katrina came on land at the Gulf coast and damaged the area. We see President Bush and First Lady Laura visiting New Orleans and other affected areas in Louisiana and Mississippi to comfort the victims of the hurricane and bring aid
The country lost Chief Justice William Renquist who passed away on September 3, 2005
President Bush nominated Judge Roberts to become the next Chief Supreme Court Justice. On September 29th Justice Roberts was sworn in as the 20th? Supreme Court Chief Justice.
President Bush remembered 9/11 heroes at a Medal of Valor ceremony. He also met with several foreign leaders and addressed the Useless Nations
For the quote of the month I have chosen President Bushs Remarks which he gave at the National Day of Prayer and Remembrance Service on September 16, 2005
Thank you so much, patty! How we miss him: his heart, good humor, sane values, decency, compassion and staunch patriotic leadership! God bless and protect him.
Did anyone see the clip (I think on “Fox News”), where Barbara Bush (sr.)showed up and surprised a group of kids at an elementary school! I didn’t catch the name of the school either, darn! But this was a couple days ago.
You’re right about that .. the Bush’s not being invited.
However, I’m not so sure the Bush’s want to be associated with a person who constantly uses the former President as a punching bag.
He’ll never say anything (even when he’s entitled to), but he’ll just simply stay out of Obama’s way.
I’m hoping when Romney is elected, he will make a point of including GW and Laura at a few events.
September 20, 2012 - Determined to highlight the work of the Bush Institutes Alliance to Reform Education Leadership, President Bush toured KIPP Explore and KIPP Intrepid schools, meeting with students and instilling upon them the importance of education, character and leadership. After the tour, President Bush hosted a roundtable discussion with four highly effective principals and leaders of Houston ISD, KIPP, Teach For America, YES Prep, Rice and Univ. of Houston. Former Sec. of Education Rod Paige also attended the discussion. The solutions-minded conversation spotlighted the great work Houston is doing to better prepare and empower their school leaders.
Thanks for the pics of a real president. And on my birthday too!
I had the moderator remove post #3,146 because I accidentally double-posted the same photos, sorry about that!

Thank you for keeping me in the loop for all the updated pictures and articles. Still love our President GW, and it’s great to see him and Laura looking so well.
You’re very welcome gramho12. It seems like GW and Laura have aged 10 years younger since they left Washington DC without the stress and added pressure put on them.
They are indeed enjoying their “golden years.”
September 23, 2012 - President George W. Bush and 22 wounded service members participate in the sponsor/practice round for the Bush Center's 2nd Warrior Open golf tournament. Thank you to Taylor Made for providing golf bags and gear for all of the warriors. warrioropen.com/ Photo by Eric Draper
