A Month in the life of George W. Bush (News and many Photos) September 2005
georgewbush-whitehouse.archives.gov/news ^ | September 5, 2010

Posted on 09/05/2010 5:29:14 PM PDT by Kaslin

The month of September 2005 was a very busy month for President Bush after Katrina came on land at the Gulf coast and damaged the area. We see President Bush and First Lady Laura visiting New Orleans and other affected areas in Louisiana and Mississippi to comfort the victims of the hurricane and bring aid
The country lost Chief Justice William Renquist who passed away on September 3, 2005
President Bush nominated Judge Roberts to become the next Chief Supreme Court Justice. On September 29th Justice Roberts was sworn in as the 20th? Supreme Court Chief Justice.
President Bush remembered 9/11 heroes at a Medal of Valor ceremony. He also met with several foreign leaders and addressed the Useless Nations
For the quote of the month I have chosen President Bush’s Remarks which he gave at the National Day of Prayer and Remembrance Service on September 16, 2005

You’re welcome. Just trying to bring some joy through the pics and positive stories. Lord knows, we’re gonna need them more than ever if Obozo gets re-elected!

My pleasure, Ohio. Not surprising the lib MSM is jumping all over President Bush for his lukewarm endorsement of Romney and his plans of releasing a book on the economy in July. They still can’t let go of their hatred for the man, can they?

Of course none of it matters to GW as goes about his way to do the things he cares about the most. He is a strong man who is not going to let the liberal attack dogs stop him from being an influential voice in human rights around the world and supporting the troops through the Warrior 100k bike ride and the Warrior Open golf tournament.

Pres. Bush is at a point in his life where he doesn’t need to be insert himself in the political arena and he’s perfectly happy with that!

Two new articles you’ll want to read. The first one is an op-ed written by Pres. Bush for the Wall Street Journal:

George W. Bush: The Arab Spring and American Ideals

By GEORGE W. BUSH

These are extraordinary times in the history of freedom. In the Arab Spring, we have seen the broadest challenge to authoritarian rule since the collapse of Soviet communism. The idea that Arab peoples are somehow content with oppression has been discredited forever.

Yet we have also seen instability, uncertainty and the revenge of brutal rulers. The collapse of an old order can unleash resentments and power struggles that a new order is not yet prepared to handle.

The second article is about a film screening of a documentary on Aung San Suu Kyi that President and Laura Bush hosted last night in Dallas:

George W. Bush cautions against forgetting that 'the human condition overseas matters to our national security'

ByTom Benning / Reporter

Former President George W. Bush - a day after telling a Washington audience that the U.S. should take a more active role in supporting democracy movements across the world - further defined the stakes Wednesday night in Dallas. "One of the dangers facing our country is that we don't care what happens in other places around the world," Bush said. "One of the lessons of 9/11 is that the human condition overseas matters to our national security. That's something we can't begin to forget."

The former president - whose namesake public policy institute is promoting its Freedom Collection, an online video archive of interviews with nonviolent dissidents - touched on his foreign policy views at a Bush Institute movie screening of "The Lady."

Don't know if you heard about this yet, but our dear President and Laura will be honored with their own protraits by the fake, phony slimeball at the White House on Thursday, May 31st. But still, this is very wonderful news for the Bushes and we should be happy for them. Congrats to them, they deserve it!

George W. Bush to return to White House this month to be honored by President Obama with official portrait

By Tom Benning / Reporter

UPDATED at 4:23 p.m. FRI:

Bush spokesman Freddy Ford said, "The Bushes are looking forward to being back in Washington and seeing some of their friends. They appreciate the Obamas' hospitality in hosting the portrait hanging."

George W. Bush and his wife, Laura, are expected to return to the White House later this month to be honored by President Barack Obama with the unveiling of their official portraits that will hang at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

The White House confirmed on Friday that the Bushes are slated to revisit their Washington home of eight years on May 31 for a rare joint appearance between the current and past president.

Additional details about the event, first reported by The Dallas Morning News, will be released in the next couple weeks, and we've put in a call to Bush's Dallas office as well.

I’ll bet he’d rather have a root canal! :)

Look forward to seeing the portraits, though. I wonder if
zero will put a footnote on them about what HE’S done these
last 4 miserable years!

I have no doubt that Obozo will pretend to bend over backwards to be nice to the Bushes while muttering obsenities to Moochelle behind their back. Don’t expect the Os to give the Bushes the full red carpet treatment like they did for the Chinese President recently!
