The month of September 2005 was a very busy month for President Bush after Katrina came on land at the Gulf coast and damaged the area. We see President Bush and First Lady Laura visiting New Orleans and other affected areas in Louisiana and Mississippi to comfort the victims of the hurricane and bring aid
The country lost Chief Justice William Renquist who passed away on September 3, 2005
President Bush nominated Judge Roberts to become the next Chief Supreme Court Justice. On September 29th Justice Roberts was sworn in as the 20th? Supreme Court Chief Justice.
President Bush remembered 9/11 heroes at a Medal of Valor ceremony. He also met with several foreign leaders and addressed the Useless Nations
For the quote of the month I have chosen President Bushs Remarks which he gave at the National Day of Prayer and Remembrance Service on September 16, 2005
Thank you for the new and wonderful pictures, Patty. What a terrific family we have here! Appreciate you sharing with us.
pattyvita, you are awesome! Thank you for finding and posting these wonderful pictures. Would have loved to be at the Conference. How terrific to see the entire Bush family in one place.
His name is Vittorio Palumbo, now retired from his job as a tailor for the US Military, for many years, and specifically, in the final years, for the U.S. Marines. He is an Italian immigrant who arrived in the US in the mid-50s after having grown up in Mussolini's Italy. The book is "Italian Days, Arabian Nights", and deals with the family being part of plans to populate the area Mussolini considered Italy's Fourth Shore, in Libya. It is a fascinating book!
Thanks for the great pictures! I am a friend on his FB page, but the posts get lost in the other less important stuff. :)
Thank you for the ping and all the new pix, Patty. Sanity Island is alive and well! :) (Oh, how it is needed!)
I think he will treasure those hand-copied Bible pages. Wow.
Laura looks lovely, as always.
Thanks again, patty!
Thank you for these wondrerful photos, pattyvita. Somehow I got dropped off this list earlier so I have a lot of catching up to do, Just went thru a very tough 45 minutes here. I’m looking forward to seeing the photos of this incredible famly.
Thanks Patty.. as usual great to see our guy and his woman.. Of course to be repetitive.. I STILL MISS THEM
Thanks, patty! You're the best!
Must be clean living, integrity, the peace of God, and LOTS of LOVE! :)
(Hope those 45 minutes weren't too bad! And are forgotten by this morning.....)
Alas...between abortion, the gay "movement" and the insane quest by some...for socialism, our country is off the beaten path.
Amen, ohio!
Thank you for your kind words, ohioWfan. Going thru a bit of a rough patch which hopefully will pass but we have good health, which is everything. Hope this nightmare in the White House will be over soon! I think we have a good man in Herman Cain. I was so impressed with him from the first time I saw him on Neal Cavuto years ago.
I just love your post! Our Dream lives on, he’s just not in the White House anymore! :) I still treasure seeing him at the Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati the Sunday before he was re-elected. I think it was Halloween. The stadium was filled with children in costumes and their parents full of hope that he would win the election—what a truly joyous occasion. We could feel that we were indeed going to have 4 more years of our beloved President.
A friend told me this afternoon that two young couples with children on their block are planning to move if Obama is re-elected; one family to Australia, one to Canada. The future of our children and grandchildren, and our country, is truly at stake with this person in charge for 4 more years. We need to pray a lot!
Nope! He sure doesn’t look like it! Good genes and exercise sure does the trick!
So true, Sacajaweau. President Bush was the right man to lead America during that terrible period in our nation’s history.
Pity of what has happened since he left office.
Appreciate all of your nice comments on the pics. You gotta love GW and Laura...still doing some good deeds and trying to make the world a better place. That’s what makes them beautiful inside and out.
