A Month in the life of George W. Bush (News and many Photos) September 2005
georgewbush-whitehouse.archives.gov/news ^ | September 5, 2010

Posted on 09/05/2010 5:29:14 PM PDT by Kaslin

The month of September 2005 was a very busy month for President Bush after Katrina came on land at the Gulf coast and damaged the area. We see President Bush and First Lady Laura visiting New Orleans and other affected areas in Louisiana and Mississippi to comfort the victims of the hurricane and bring aid
The country lost Chief Justice William Renquist who passed away on September 3, 2005
President Bush nominated Judge Roberts to become the next Chief Supreme Court Justice. On September 29th Justice Roberts was sworn in as the 20th? Supreme Court Chief Justice.
President Bush remembered 9/11 heroes at a Medal of Valor ceremony. He also met with several foreign leaders and addressed the Useless Nations
For the quote of the month I have chosen President Bush’s Remarks which he gave at the National Day of Prayer and Remembrance Service on September 16, 2005

My pleasure. It’s always a treat to discover new pics of W whenever possible. It’s like going on a treasure hunt and digging up a piece of gold or valuable jewelry!

They are like a breath of fresh air after the fetid air emanating out of DC these days! :)

I don't know about many of the guys who rode with GWB in Maine, but what I can tell you is that in this photo the man on the left of W is Brandon Gillard, who is the co-owner of the Kennebunkport Bike Shop. The couple on the right of W are Cyndi and Chris Smith, who are co-owners of CA Smith Photography in Kennebunk, Maine and they've been friends with the Bush family for years. Obviously, they all are very passionate bike riders. Hope that answers your question!

Isn't that lovely? This was President Bush escorting Nancy Reagan to Betty Ford's funeral yesterday. I watched most of the service on CSPAN 2 though the low point was seeing Michelle O's angry face. Ugh! It was tough to stomach that. But anyway, it was wonderful to see W and Mrs. Reagan together again. God bless Mrs. Reagan as she is now the oldest living former First Lady and hopefully she will remain strong and healthy.

Oh, WOW! Those photos of THE President and Nancy Reagan are awesome!

Look at how much admiration she has for him. It shows in her face as she's looking at him.

THANKS, patty!

(Again! :)

I'm back! It's been quiet in the George W. Bush news department these past few weeks, but I'd like to share some new news and recent photos concerning our president.

George W. Bush Gives First Interview About Osama bin Laden Killing (Exclusive)

The president opens up for the first time publicly about the killing of bin Laden for a National Geographic Channel special honoring the 10th anniversary of 9/11, set to premiere Aug. 28.

New pics:

This was President Bush and Laura on the parking lot of Campisi's Italian restaurant in Dallas where they ate dinner on Saturday, June 16.

Here's the Bushes posing with a lucky fan at the Crawford Coffee Station on Thursday, June 21. They have been staying at their Crawford ranch for several days.

Whoops....correction. I got the month for the above photos wrong. The first two photos were taken on Saturday, July 16; the third photo was taken on Thursday, July 21. Sorry about that!

[Our President just oozes class and character!]

Yes, he does, because he doesn't need to always make it about HIM.

Here's the sneak peek video of President Bush's 9/11 interview that's going to air on National Geographic Channel next month. Wow...I have a feeling that it is going to be very powerful and compelling to watch the president tell his side of the story on what it was like to witness one of the worst terrorist attacks in American history. After all, 9/11 changed the course of his presidency forever.

President Bush looks back on 9/11

Yes, of course President Bush will be there to attend the 9/11 memorial ceremony. But I wish Obama wasn't invited to be there. All we can do is try very hard to ignore him and focus on our president instead!

Obama, Bush to Participate in 9/11 Anniversary Ceremony

July 29, 2011 11:57am | By Jill Colvin, DNAinfo Reporter/Producer

MANHATTAN — President Barack Obama will join former President George W. Bush at the name-reading ceremony commemorating the 10th Anniversary of the September 11 attacks, marking the first time a president has participated in the event.

Speaking on his weekly radio show, Mayor Michael Bloomberg said that both presidents will be reading poems to mark the solemn day.

"There are no speeches whatsoever," the mayor said. “This cannot be political. That’s why there’s a poem or a quote or something that each of the readers will read."

While both presidents have visited the site before, this is the first time either will participate in the ceremony, a spokeswoman for the mayor confirmed.

The highest-ranked White House officials to have participated in the official ceremony in the past have been Vice President Joseph Biden, who was there in 2009 and 2010 and Vice President Dick Cheney, who was there for the 2003 ceremony, the mayor's office said.

While the ceremony has always included the reading of the names of those who died at Ground Zero during the attack, the names of those who died at the Pentagon as well as in the plane crash in Shanksville, Pa., will also be recited for the first time this year.

There will be moments of silence to mark when the planes hit and when the towers crumbled, as well as to commemorate the two additional attacks.

The presidents will be joined by a select group of officials including governors Andrew Cuomo, Chris Christie of New Jersey and George Pataki, who was governor at the time of the attacks.

Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani will also participate, alongside Bloomberg.

“That’s it,” Bloomberg said.

"There’s an awful lot of people who would like to participate and you just can't do that."

In addition to the readings, the family members in attendance will be allowed to walk through the memorial plazas and look at their family members' names on the memorial wall.

The public will be allowed access the next day.
