The first round of results cut Joe Miller's lead to 1,325 votes. A total of 15,702 ballots will be counted Tuesday, a mix of absentee, questioned, and early ballots that could determine the result of the Republican primary for U.S. Senate. As of 10:57 a.m. Tuesday, the Alaska Division of Elections had Miller with 50.7 percent of the vote and Murkowski gaining with 49.3 percent.

Not sure which areas of the State these votes are from. Hopefully, the Mat-Su / Wasilla area is yet to be counted and the first round is from one of the stronger areas for Murkowski. Best I can tell, it looks like a few thousand additional Republican ballots have been counted.

I wonder how many rounds it will take to declare Murkowski the winner? I’m saying 7.

I think 5. Bottom line is the system is corrupt, and Murkowski is connected. They’ll keep going until she wins.

It would really help if the article mentioned how many total ballots were counted to add those 343 votes.

And when Murkowski and her republican elite lawyer brigade succeed in stealing the primary from Miller, conservatives in Alaska will stay home on election day, putting the leftist dem in the senate.

So — there is a push here in Tea Party groups to register to vote absentee — “There is less opportunity for cheating.” The reasoning has to do with (liberal) clerks who handle ballots, etc. It seems to me, however, that absentee ballots are where the libs cheat most — and that they focus on them because they suspect they are conservative.

Any feedback re this? I just registered absentee.
