Glenn Beck kicked off Monday's radio show by thanking the many attendees at Saturday's "Restoring Honor" rally in front of the Lincoln Memorial at least 500,000 by his count. Beck said he's "still waiting on the real number" and plans to look closely during his 5 p.m. Fox News show at photos of the large crowd assembled on the National Mall.
The rally which took place on the 47th anniversary of Martin Luther King's famous "I Have a Dream" speech at the memorial drew a good deal of controversy, with civil rights leaders holding a countermarch. But the event largely kept free of overt political references, as Beck (a longtime scourge of the Obama White House) had pledged it would. It stressed religious themes, together with celebrations of noncontroversial virtues such as charity and national service.
Even though Beck is still tabulating a crowd estimate, it can be expected to be significantly higher than the number CBS News reported over the weekend: 87,000.

Betcha the trash left behind by Al and his homies outweighed that left behind by the Beck attendees of all races.
Could focusing on the crowd size be a liberal tactic rather than actually addressing the content of what was said?
And the MSM doesn’t understand why we don’t believe them anymore.
But who cares, the mall was full and over flowing on to the sides.
I hate the MSM.
Is there any report about how clean the area was left by Beck’s attendees?
"If you push a negative hard and deep enough, it will break through into its counterside." (directly from the Rules for Radicals playbook [Saul Alinsky])
Certainly, rally organizers ordered commercial satellite photos?
If Yahoo wanted to be “fair and balanced,” it would have used the much wider photos of the event site. That photo make it appear there are only a few hundred at the event.
Beck DID NOT estimate the crowd size to be over 500 thousand.
Early in the program, he stated that he was happy to report the media had reported over one thousand people had shown up to attend the event. There was resounding laughter, for his lampoon.
Later in the program, he said he had read a report that estimated the attendees to number over 300 thousand and another to that estimated the crowd to number over 500 thousand. He didn’t come up with his own number, and didn’t say that either of these reports were accurate.
He did say at one point that there were an awful lot of people in attendance. (paraphrased) That’s about as close to a solid number as he got from what I watched.
Yeah, and what about all those “racist” comments? Can the MSM produce evidence of racial hatred at this rally — of the kind talked about by all the leftist pundits beforehand?
And were there any fights, people spitting on each other, white folks beating on the black members of the audience....?
I guess not.
No. The dem media meme is that it was a "large, primarily white, crowd which gathered at the mall". I have seen the "primarily white" language in at least 6 MSM reports. Some say "overwhelminly white". That's the spin.
And NBC estimated the crowd at 300,000.
The Wall Street Journal reported on the front page the crowd size to be in the tens of thousands.
Too bad that FOX News didn’t cover this amazing event! Their ratings would have been 100% more than their coverage of the President;s address this morning! Incidentally, did the Million Man March get Federal Security? Did Martin Luther King, Jr. get Federal Security? Now did the Restoring Honor Rally get Federal Security? No!
FOX News is falling into lockstep with the FED? Very bad news!
If the Parks Department was allowed to estimate crowd sizes using the blocks formula that has served us well, we would know the actual size. But that, would be racist.
LLS
And it was very evident that he was deeply touched at the amazing turnout.
Seems to me that the left sees the controversy in that anyone is even DARING TO QUESTION their propaganda.
