I’m just surprised he outed himself [?] so quickly. It was pretty blatant.

Nothing really flew or fell away. I had the gun on a towel on the table. There’s a washer between the arm and the frame that dropped onto the towel when I picked up the gun. Same for a very small push rod that’s inserted into a spring. It too fell onto the towel. The screw has another odd-shaped washer that fits into the opening of the arm when the screw is tightened. They stayed together.
The problem is, putting pressure on the push rod/spring so the screw can be inserted and tightened into the frame. My fingers are just too big and unwieldy to do it well. I might have to take it to a gunsmith who has the proper tools...

*ugh!*
Reminds me, I need to get a ste of gunsmith picks because they’re useful for getting into the small crevices around the Ruger 10/22 firing pin.
I have a bit of carbon fouling there that makes it not fuction at times.

Good point. I just might get some myself. The Charter Arms is easy for basic cleaning , but I’ve heard gunsmiths don’t like it much because it can be a pain to disassemble. I’ve never tied to take it fully apart, no need to with this gun. But I don’t think I’d attempt it after this.

I might have to take it to a gunsmith who has the proper tools...Try using a flat-bladed screwdriver to push the spring down (you may want to put some tape on the screwdriver to keep from scratching the gun), and glue the screw to another scredriver with some super glue. Put the tip of the screw next to he tip of the screwdriver and slide the screwdriver off the hole, following it with the tip of the screw. When the screw is in the hole, tighten it down, pop the screwdriver loose from the screw and clean off any superglue residue with some acetone.

As the White Sox announcer likes to say; He gone! As the Houston Astros announcer likes to say: "Wow. Our team really sucks this year."
Oh....I mean...."He's outta here!"
